Darren Close is an Australian comics creator. He has primarily self-published comics about his character Killeroo [1] [2] [3] for the last 20 years, most recently the GANGWARS anthology [4] He also founded the OzComics website, which later became a weekly drawing challenge on Facebook. [5] [6] Among other achievements, the website held an auction to raise funds to help Gary Friedrich, co-creator of the supernatural motorcyclist, Ghost Rider, after he was countersued by publisher Marvel when he tried to regain rights to the character. Jacob Kurtzberg, best known by his pen name, Jack Kirby, was an American comic book artist, writer and editor, widely regarded as one of the medium's major innovators and one of its most prolific and influential creators. He grew up in New York City and learned to draw cartoon figures by tracing characters from comic strips and editorial cartoons. He entered the nascent comics industry in the 1930s, drawing various comics features under different pen names, including Jack Curtiss, before ultimately settling on Jack Kirby. Fighting American 1954-1955 superhero comic book

Fighting American is the title character of a patriotically themed comic book character created in 1954 by the writer-artist team of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. Published by the Crestwood Publications imprint Prize Comics, it was, contrary to standard industry practices of the time, creator-owned. Harvey Comics published one additional issue in 1966. One final inventoried tale was published in 1989, in a Marvel Comics hardcover collection of all the Fighting American stories.

The Ledger Awards are prizes awarded to "acknowledge excellence in Australian comic art and publishing." Captain Atom (Atlas Publications)

Captain Atom is an Australian comic book series created and written by Jack Bellew with illustrations by Arthur Mather. It was published from 1948 to 1954, with 64 issues and it also appeared as strips in a number of Australian newspapers. The protagonist, the first to use the name, has no relation to the later American superhero Captain Atom, published by Charlton Comics in 1965 and subsequently by DC Comics in 1987.
