Ole Einar Bjørndalen is a retired Norwegian professional biathlete and coach, often referred to by the nickname, the "King of Biathlon". With 13 Winter Olympic Games medals, he is second on the list of multiple medalists behind Marit Bjørgen who has won 15 medals. Darya Uladzimirauna Domracheva is a retired Belarusian biathlete and coach who competed in the Biathlon World Cup from 2006 to 2018. She won a gold medal in the 4×6 km relay and a silver medal in the mass start competition at the 2018 Winter Olympics, three gold medals in the pursuit, individual, and mass start competitions at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and a bronze medal in the individual competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics. The 2016–17 Biathlon World Cup – World Cup 8 was held from 9 March until 12 March 2017. Initially it was planned to be held in Tyumen, Russia, but IBU cancelled the host rights for Russia. On 7 January 2017, IBU announced that Stage 8 will be held in Kontiolahti, Finland.
Darya Blashko is a Ukrainian biathlete. She has competed in the Biathlon World Cup since 2019.
