Dashnor Sula (12 March 1969) is a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania for the Democratic Party of Albania. [1] [2] He started his political career in 2005 when he won the elections and became the deputy of Peqin city.
Dashnor Sula was born in Peqin, on 12 march 1969 to Riza Sula and Refije Sula. He was raised in Peqin and continued his studies there until he finished high school. Afterwards he moved to Tirana to continue his studies. He did his Bachelor studies in Law at the University of Tirana and his Master studies in Criminal Law.
He has been married to Elida Magani Sula since 1995 and they have two children, Paola Sula and Silvio Sula.
Dashnor Sula has also taken the lawyer licence and he still continues to practice his profession.
Sali Ram Berisha is an Albanian conservative politician and former cardiologist who served as the second President of Albania from 1992 to 1997 and Prime Minister from 2005 to 2013. He was also chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania twice, from 1991 to 1992 and then again from 1997 to 2013.
Fatos Nano is an Albanian socialist politician who served as Prime Minister of Albania in 1991, from 1997 to 1998 and from 2002 to 2005. He was the first leader and founder of the Socialist Party of Albania and a member of the Albanian Parliament from 1991 to 1996 and 1997 to 2009. He reformed the anti-revisionist Marxist-Leninist ideology of the Labor Party of Albania into social democracy for its successor, the Socialist Party. During his leadership, the Socialist Party, as a result of reforms, joined the Socialist International and Party of European Socialists. Nano was a candidate in the 2007 presidential election but did not win. He again tried in the 2012 presidential election, but he did not even qualify as a candidate, because the leaders of parties in Parliament obstructed their respective MPs to elect him as candidate in the elections.
The Democratic Party of Albania is a conservative political party in Albania. Since 2013, they have been the largest opposition party in the country, currently seating 59/140 MPs in the Albanian parliament. As of 2022, the party has no chairman until the election of Lulzim Basha's successor, who was fired by the party's national convention on December 11, 2021 a decision which he and his supporters did not recognize as legitimate. Basha officially resigned on March 21, 2022.
Azem Shpend Hajdari was the leader of the student movement in 1990–1991 that led to the fall of communism in Albania. He then became a politician of the Democratic Party of Albania (DP). He symbolizes the start of the democratic era in Albania. He was a member of the Albanian parliament and the Chairman of the Defence Parliamentary Commission. He was assassinated in Tirana on September 12, 1998.

In 1991, the Socialist Party of Albania, with specific social democratic ideology took control of the country through democratic elections. One year later the Democratic Party of Albania won the new elections. After 1990, Albania has been seeking a closer relationship with the West. What followed were deliberate programs of economic and democratic reform, but Albanian inexperience with capitalism led to the proliferation of pyramid schemes – which were not banned due to the corruption of the government. Chaos in late 1996 to early 1997, as a result of the collapse of these pyramid schemes, alarmed the world and prompted the influx of international peacekeeping forces. In 1995, Albania was accepted into the Council of Europe and requested membership in NATO and is a potential candidate country for accession to the European Union. The workforce of Albania has continued to emigrate to Western countries, especially Greece and Italy.
Alfred Karamuço was an Albanian politician, attorney, and judge. He graduated with a law degree from the University of Tirana in 1965. He worked in the Public Attorney District of Saranda, Erseka, Tirana, and then in the General Prosecutor's Office in Tirana. He was a lecturer in the Albanian Police Academia in 1987. In 1988, he started working as a legal adviser on juridical byro of the Council of Ministers in Tirana. In 1991, he became a Minister of State Control and the year after, he became the Deputy Head of Service Control of the State. Karamuço was part of the Central Head Council of Republican Party of Albania. In 1995, he started the 12 year mandate as a member of the Constitutional Court of Albania. He retired in 2007. He is married to Valentina Karamuço, with whom he has three children.
Alpin Gallo is an Albanian retired football defender. He last played for KS Shkumbini Peqin in the 2008/2009 Albanian Superliga season. He is also a former Albanian international, having earned 9 caps from 1994 through 1998.
Arben Malaj has been Minister of Finance and Economy in the Republic of Albania different times from 1997 until 2005. He is known for transforming the Albanian economy into a European profile, after the hard social-economic crisis that this country passed during the year 1997. He served as a Member of the Albanian Parliament from 1997 to 2013 chairing the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance.

The 2011 Albanian opposition demonstrations were a series of anti-government protests in cities around Albania following 18 months of political conflict over alleged electoral fraud by the opposition. A video surfaced which portrayed the deputy prime minister arranging a corrupt deal with the minister of economy. The public outcry over the video resulted in the resignation of the deputy prime minister. A demonstration was called by parliamentary opposition parties, which include the Socialist Party and the Unity for Human Rights Party. These were called on 21 January in order to protest the alleged corruption of the Albanian government as well as widespread unemployment and poverty in the country.
