David Holmes is an American sportscaster and was also the winner of the second season of Dream Job, the ESPN reality television talent search show that looks for new on-air talent for the all-sports television network. A 22-year-old student at Kent State University who comes from Uniontown, Ohio, Holmes got onto the show by being one of the two Wendy's Wild Card Winners (the other being K.C. James). It took Holmes a while to find his rhythm, but once he picked it up, he was nearly flawless, though he did stumble on occasions throughout the season. He came close to being cut in both episodes three and nine, but survived to take a not-so-easy win in the season's tenth and final episode over Grant Thompson, who was almost as, if not more, solid than Holmes most of the time, but Thompson's major stumbles in episode ten aided Holmes in his win.
Along with his one-year ESPN contract, Holmes made $70,000 in his first year, and was awarded with a brand-new Mazda6 5-door car. He started at ESPNews at the first of the year, but on observation to see how sportscasting outside the reality stage worked. His first on-air appearance did not take place until late February 2005. It was also on ESPNews, where he began to go by "Dave."
At the time of Dream Job, Holmes stated he "needs to pass one more online course to get his broadcast journalism degree" from Kent State University. When Holmes won, Kent State declared Feb. 19 as Dave Holmes Day at Kent State and then introduced him at the ESPN Bracket Buster game in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.
Holmes did try out for the show's first season, got to the semifinals of the competition, but was passed over for the televised finals for the Spring of 2004.
After ESPN, Dave went on to work at WTVG, the ABC affiliate in Toledo, OH, which he joined on April 2, 2007. He worked there as a sports reporter and anchor. He also served as the sports director at 13abc.
In the fall of 2015, Dave announced that he would be leaving 13abc in Toledo for WBNS in Columbus, OH. At the Columbus CBS affiliate, Dave serves as a sports reporter and weekend sports anchor. He also covers The Ohio State Buckeyes football team both at home and on the road.

The Toledo Mud Hens are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. They are located in Toledo, Ohio, and play their home games at Fifth Third Field. A baseball team nicknamed the Mud Hens has played in Toledo for most seasons since 1896, including a 50-year history as a member of the now defunct American Association. The current franchise was established in 1965, joining the International League; this league was called the Triple-A East for the 2021 season.

Jason "Jay" Crawford is an American TV news and sports anchor, who is best known nationally for his time at ESPN. The 2010 Bowling Green Falcons football team was the 92nd varsity football team to represent Bowling Green State University and the program's 58th season in the Mid-American Conference. The Falcons play in the MAC's east division and are led by second year head coach Dave Clawson. They played their home games at Doyt Perry Stadium. They finished the season 2–10, 1–7 in MAC play to finish in a three-way tie for fifth place in the East Division.
Woodville Mall was an enclosed shopping mall off of Woodville Road in Northwood, Ohio, outside the city of Toledo, Ohio. The mall opened in 1969 and, after losing most of its stores in the 2000s, became a dead mall. The mall's interior was closed in December 2011 and demolished in March 2014.

The 2020–21 Ohio University Bobcats men's basketball team represented Ohio University for the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bobcats were led by second-year head coach Jeff Boals, who was a 1995 graduate of Ohio University. The team played their home games at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio as a member of the Mid-American Conference. In a season limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they finished the season 17–8, 9–5 in MAC play to finish in fifth place. As the No. 5 seed in the MAC tournament, they defeated Kent State, Toledo, and Buffalo to win the tournament championship. A a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 13 seed in the West region. There they upset No. 4-seeded Virginia in the First Round before falling to No. 5-seeded Creighton in the Second Round.
The 2022 Ohio Bobcats football team represented Ohio University as a member of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by second-year head coach Tim Albin and played their home games at Peden Stadium in Athens, Ohio. They finished the season 10–4 and 7–1 in the MAC and won the MAC East for the first time since 2016. They lost to Toledo in the MAC Championship Game. Ohio defeated Wyoming in the Arizona Bowl
The 2022–23 Toledo Rockets men's basketball team represented the University of Toledo during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rockets, led by 13th-year head coach Tod Kowalczyk, played their home games at Savage Arena, as members of the Mid-American Conference. They won their third straight regular season championship with a 16-2 record in MAC Play. They defeated Miami and Ohio in the first two rounds of the MAC tournament before losing to Kent State in the final. As a regular season champion who did not win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament, where they lost to Michigan in the first round.
