Dave Thiele (born c. 1952 [1] ) is a Canadian politician. He was a member of the Edmonton City Council,representing Ward 6 alongside Amarjeet Sohi.
Thiele was first elected in 1998,prior to which he worked with the City of Edmonton in the Water Systems department (now Epcor Water). [2]

The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton,Alberta. Joseph Neil Moss was a Canadian dressing room attendant for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League and the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. Born with Down syndrome,he struck up a friendship with Wayne Gretzky in the mid-1980s,when the latter was playing for the Oilers and dating Moss's sister. Gretzky advised the team to give Moss a tryout as locker room attendant. He ultimately held that position for over three decades,until his death in 2020.

Dave Fennell is a Canadian former defensive lineman for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. After graduating from the University of North Dakota in 1973,he played for Edmonton from 1974 to 1983,and helped lead the team to five straight Grey Cup championships from 1978 to 1982 as a key member of the "Alberta Crude" defence.
The 69th Grey Cup was played on November 22,1981,at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal,Quebec in front of 52,487 fans. The 1981 Grey Cup game is considered to be one of the ten best Grey Cup games of all time. CFL football fans saw an unexpectedly exciting game,as the 22.5 point underdog Ottawa Rough Riders,sporting a woeful record of 5–11,came within three seconds of beating the Edmonton Eskimos,who had won the championship the last three straight years. The Eskimos,with a 14–1–1 record,were almost the victims of what would have been the biggest upset in the history of the Grey Cup. With the win,the Eskimos became the first team in league history to win the Grey Cup four consecutive times.

Dave Dryburgh was a Scotland-born Canadian sports journalist. A native of Kirkcaldy and an immigrant to Regina,he reported on the soccer games in which he played for The Leader-Post. As the newspaper's sports editor from 1932 to 1948,he primarily covered Canadian football and the Regina Roughriders,and ice hockey in Western Canada. His columns "Sport Byways" and "Dryburgh" give a first-hand account of sporting events,and were read widely in Western Canada. As the secretary of the Saskatchewan Amateur Hockey Association during the 1930s and 1940s,he established its registration system including the history of each player. He also served as the official statistician for baseball,softball and hockey leagues in Saskatchewan.
