David Addleton is currently coach at Rugby Lions. He is a former forwards coach and interim head coach of Coventry R.F.C. where he enjoyed a legendary playing career as a hooker between 1989 and 2005. [1]

Addleton made his debut for Coventry against local rivals Moseley in September 1989. "Aggie" joined Coventry from local club Barkers Butts and during an illustrious career also represented Warwickshire, the Midlands, Irish Exiles and the Barbarians.

Career highlights included Coventry's most successful season of the modern era, coming within touching distance of the Premiership in 1997. Along the way, with Addleton an ever-present, they beat a Newcastle Falcons side featuring 15 internationals by 19-18 at Coundon Road. They would eventually finish third to the well- funded Newcastle and champions Richmond but lost a promotion play-off against London Irish despite taking a narrow first leg advantage to Sunbury. There was also the "lost" hat-trick in the forfeited match versus Rotherham.

In his final game for Coventry in April 2005 versus Bedford, Addleton injured his ribs in the first half and had to be taken off, but this injury was sustained as he was scoring his final try for the club. In total, "Aggie" played 354 senior club games for Coventry R.F.C. He was rewarded with a testimonial in 2005.

Addleton continued his work as a Rugby Development Officer in Coventry and Warwickshire schools and was appointed first team forwards coach in January 2006. In November 2006, he was appointed acting head coach following the suspension and subsequent resignation of Mike Umaga. [2] When the new head coach Murray Henderson was appointed, Addleton reverted to the role of Forwards Coach again.

In February 2007, Brett Davey resigned as head coach. Addleton took over and immediately guided the team to better performances. [3] [4]

When Phil Maynard was appointed as head coach in June 2008, Addleton once again returned to the position of Forwards Coach.

Coventry R.F.C. Rugby union club based in Coventry, England

Coventry Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Coventry, England. The club enjoyed great success during the 1960s and 70s, with many players representing their countries. Coventry's home ground is the Butts Park Arena, which opened in 2004. Between 1921 and 2004, the club played at Coundon Road. The club have recently been promoted into the RFU Championship following their promotion from the 2017–18 National League 1.

John Harbin is an Australian sports coach. He first worked in rugby league before beginning a coaching career in association football. His son, Lionel Harbin, briefly played rugby league in the Super League for the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Ivor Preece British Lions & England international rugby union player

Ivor Preece was an English rugby union footballer who represented and captained England Schools, England and Coventry. He is the only Coventry RFC player to have achieved this accolade. He was selected to play with the British and Irish Lions, on their tour to New Zealand and Australia in 1950.

Spencer Brown is a former professional and International rugby union player. He played on the wing and at fullback.

Gareth Collins is a former English-Welsh rugby union player who is currently head coach at Melton Mowbray and Head of Psychology at The King's School Grantham. A Leicester Tigers youth player, Collins was a versatile back who made his name scoring tries, being one of the most prolific finishers in National League 2 North history with 152 tries scored during his time with Rugby Lions and Leicester Lions, which included a joint divisional record 32 tries in a season. As well as playing club rugby he has also represented Warwickshire in the county championships and has captained the England Counties XV.

Mike Daniels is an English rugby union player who plays for Newcastle Falcons in the RFU Championship.

John Dalziel is a Forwards Coach for Scotland. He was previously Head Coach of the Scotland 7s team. He began coaching while at Melrose, and went on have coaching roles with Scotland U20, London Scottish and Glasgow Warriors.

Rowland Winter is a British rugby union Director of Rugby and coach.

Alfie Barbeary is an English rugby union player for Wasps in the Premiership Rugby. His preferred position is back row, having previously focused on hooker.
