David Bailey (born 9 September 1944) is a retired English cricketer. [1] He started his career in Minor Counties cricket with Durham,making his senior debut in 1961. Four years later Bailey joined Lancashire,and went on to play 27 first-class matches for the county. He achieved his highest first-class score of 136 in the match against Kent in July 1969. [2] Bailey returned to Minor Counties cricket when he moved to Cheshire in 1973. He stayed with the county for 11 years,and was appointed captain for three seasons from 1974 to 1976. [1]
In the 1971 season,Bailey was the professional player for Accrington Cricket Club in the Lancashire League. [3]

James Bailey was an English first-class cricketer. An all-rounder,he played first-class cricket for Hampshire in two spells,making 242 appearances for the county between 1927 and 1952. He scored over 9,000 runs for Hampshire and took over 450 wickets,enjoying much of his success as a cricketer following the Second World War. He achieved the double of 1,000 runs and 100 wickets in 1948,and as of 2024 he remains the last Hampshire player to achieve this feat.

During the same summer he spent one match as the club professional at Accrington Cricket Club in the Lancashire League.
