David Harley Daniels (born April 2, 1971) [1] is a Canadian basketball coach and former player.
Daniels was born in Fort St. John, British Columbia. [2] He played college basketball at Clackamas Community College and Colorado Christian University, earning first-team all-conference at both colleges. He was named the 1993 Colorado Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player after ranking second nationally in assists and leading his team to the Colorado Athletic Conference title. [3]
Following his collegiate career, Daniels played for the Denver Nuggets at the 1993 Rocky Mountain Review NBA Summer League and split the 1993–94 CBA season with the Rochester Renegades and the Yakima Sun Kings. [3]
Daniels became a regular member of the Canadian national team including at the 1998 World Championships and 2000 Sydney Olympics where he was back up point guard to NBA player Steve Nash. [4]
Daniels spent 10 years working with Athletes in Action before he returned to Colorado Christian College as head coach from 2005 to 2011. [4] He led the Cougars to the NCAA Division II National Tournament in 2008 and was named the 2007–08 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. [3] Between 2011 and 2015, he was head coach of the men's program at Northwest Nazarene University. [5]
In 2018, Daniels moved to Australia to coach the Lakeside Lightning men's team in the State Basketball League (SBL). [4] He was named MSBL Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2019. [6] [7] He took on the dual role of Lightning men's and women's head coach for the 2021 NBL1 West season. [8] He left Lakeside in February 2022. [9]
Daniels and his wife Vicki have three daughters. [4]

Ben Purser is an Australian former basketball player. He played 16 years for the Perry Lakes Hawks of the NBL1 West, debuting in 2008 and playing every year until retiring in 2023. As team captain, he led the Hawks to two championships, the first in 2018 in the State Basketball League (SBL) with grand final MVP honours and the second in 2021 in the inaugural NBL1 West season. He was named to the All-SBL First Team in 2018 and the SBL All-Defensive Five every year between 2016 and 2019. He was also the league's Most Improved Player in 2009.
Jarrad Prue is an Australian former basketball player. He played 15 seasons with the Lakeside Lightning of the NBL1 West between 2003 and 2021 and won three championships. He is the NBL1 West's all-time leading rebounder.

Luke Payne is an American former basketball player and coach. He played both guard positions during his playing days; he was a standout college player for the USC Upstate Spartans before moving to Australia and forging a successful four-year career with the Lakeside Lightning of the State Basketball League (SBL). In 2012, he returned to USC Upstate, joining the Spartans men's basketball team as an assistant coach under his father, Eddie, the head coach.

In Australia, she helped the Lakeside Lightning win the SBL championship in 2018 and earned three consecutive SBL Most Valuable Player awards.
Michael James Vigor is a Scottish-born Australian professional basketball player for the Willetton Tigers of the NBL1 West. He made his debut in the State Basketball League (SBL) for the Perth Redbacks in 2008 and in 2011 joined the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (NBL) as a development player. He won an NBL championship with the Wildcats in 2014 and an SBL championship with the Redbacks in 2017. He played in Europe between 2015 and 2020, and in 2018 he represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games.

Ryan Petrik is an Australian basketball coach who currently serves as head coach of the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). Prior to becoming head coach of the Lynx in 2020, Petrik led the Rockingham Flames women's team in the State Basketball League (SBL) to two championships in 2014 and 2015 and earned SBL Coach of the Year honours in 2012. Between 2015 and 2020, he served as an assistant coach with the Lynx, and between 2019 and 2024, he served as head coach of the Flames men's team. In 2022, he was named the WNBL Coach of the Year and guided the Flames men to the NBL1 West championship and NBL1 National championship.

Jalen Christopher Billups is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Toyoda Gosei Scorpions of the Japanese B.League. He played five years of college basketball for Northern Kentucky before starting his professional career in Australia with the Cockburn Cougars of the State Basketball League (SBL) in 2017. After a short stint in Scotland with the Glasgow Rocks, he returned to the SBL in 2018 and won the league's MVP with the Joondalup Wolves. He joined the Southern Huskies in 2019 for their inaugural season in the New Zealand NBL and then moved to Japan in 2021 to play for the Toyoda Gosei Scorpions.
Daniel Alexander is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Perry Lakes Hawks of the NBL1 West. He played college basketball for Texas A&M and Grand Canyon before splitting his first three years as a professional in Australia and the NBA G League. He won a SEABL championship with the Mount Gambier Pioneers in 2017 and an NBA G League championship with the Austin Spurs in 2018.
