David Esrig (born September 23, 1935 [1] in Haifa) is a Romanian theater director.

Education

He studied directing at the Bucharest Caragiale Academy of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography.

Career

In 1995, he founded the Athanor Academy of Performing Arts in Burghausen, which was relocated to Passau in 2014. Esrig is multiple Doctor h.c. in several universities in Romania and Moldova.

Robert Cohen (playwright)

Robert Cohen is an American university professor, theatre director, playwright, and drama critic. Now a Claire Trevor Professor emeritus after 50 years teaching at the University of California, Irvine since 1965, he continues to write, and has published many books on theatre, along with articles, dramatic anthologies and many plays, and has conducted advanced teaching residencies in numerous countries and much of the United States. Liviu Ciulei was a Romanian theater and film director, film writer, actor, architect, educator, costume and set designer. During a career spanning over 50 years, he was described by Newsweek as "one of the boldest and most challenging figures on the international scene". Ciulei is known for winning the Best Director prize at the 1965 Cannes Film Festival for his film Forest of the Hanged.
