David Hall is an American law professor and academic. [1] He was the president of the University of the Virgin Islands from 2009 to 2024. Prior to that position,he was the Provost of Northeastern University and Dean of the Northeastern University School of Law. He was a professor of law at the University of Mississippi and the University of Oklahoma. [2]
While at Kansas State,he played on the basketball team from 1969 to 1972 and was inducted into its Hall of Fame. [3]

Additionally,Virgin held the Illinois Boys Cross Country all-time state championship record for 47 years,running a 13:50.6 in 1972,a record that stood until November 9,2019,when Josh Methner of John Hersey High School ran a 13:49.86. Virgin was Track and Field News "High School Athlete of the Year" in 1973.

Jackson was an important figure in the struggle for increased civil rights and workers' rights on the islands. He petitioned for freedom of the press,and organized the islands' first trade union. Following the transfer of the territory to American control in 1917,he lobbied for US citizenship for the islanders.
The 2009–10 Oklahoma Sooners women's basketball team represented the University of Oklahoma in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I basketball season. The Sooners,coached by Sherri Coale and members of the Big 12 Conference,made the Final Four of the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive season,losing in the national semifinals to Stanford. Their Final Four appearance was unexpected entering the season,as they had suffered seemingly devastating graduation losses from last year's team,most notably All-American Courtney Paris and her twin sister Ashley.

The tenth annual 2009 US Virgin Islands Paradise Jam was a women's basketball tournament that took place November 26–28,2009. Eight teams from the NCAA were invited to participate in the tournament. The teams were separated into two brackets,the Reef Division and the Island Division. The Reef Division consisted of Mississippi State,Rutgers,Southern California and Texas. The Island Division consisted of Notre Dame,Oklahoma,San Diego State and South Carolina

Mary Morten,a lifelong activist in Chicago,has dedicated her voice to advocate for marginalized communities. Morten was inducted into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame in 1996. He is also recognized for his charitable efforts,working with organizations to promote sustainable water solutions in developing countries. He made his television debut acting in the 2016 televised international feature film Behind the Water. He was a figure in the new industry of filmmaking for the U.S. Virgin Islands. On 26 January 2021,Kershaw was announced as the head coach of the men's soccer program at Penn State University in the United States. Kershaw continued a century-long legacy of soccer coaching starting in Altoona,Pennsylvania.
Camille Althea McKayle is an Afro-Jamaican-American mathematician and is the current Provost of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI). She holds a PhD in mathematics from Lehigh University and taught undergraduates at Lafayette College and UVI from 1993 to 2008.
James O. Plinton Jr. was a U.S. commercial airline executive,commercial airline entrepreneur,and former U.S. Army Air Corps flight officer,pilot and flight instructor with the 332nd Fighter Group's 99th Fighter Squadron.
