Jamilly co-founded Theme Traders with his sister Kim Einhorn. Theme Traders is a London based event management, party planning and prop hire company launched in 1989. [1] The company grew out of their work as children's entertainers, when they began to receive requests from parents to organise entire parties. [2]
Jamilly started his humanitarian activities with entertaining sick children at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In 1977 he founded Pod Children's Charity, which now arranges over 2500 performances a year and has entertained over a million children in children's hospital wards and hospices throughout the United Kingdom. [3]
Jamilly appeared on the Secret Millionaire in 2010 in Redcar in an extended programme, [4] which topped two million seven hundred thousand viewers by the end. In the programme, he handed out £25,000 each and became patron to Sid's Place - Redcar Community College, Zoe's Place Baby Hospice and the Redcar Amateur Boxing Association. [5]
Jamilly, with Frankie Wales, was one of the co-founders of the Redcar Fire and Steel Festival a festival which celebrated Teesside's heritage of 150 years of steel making. [6]
Jamilly founded The Good Deeds Organisation in 2005 which promotes global good deeds and kindness and went on to co-launch and celebrate Kindness Day UK in 2010. Kindness Day UK aims to make each person in the UK carry out one act of kindness on 13 November, World Kindness Day. [7]
In 2011, Jamilly founded Kindness UK, a not-for-profit, independent organisation which aims to promote, share and unite kindness every day and make kindness a greater part of everyone's day-to-day lives. [8] He is also a patron of Zoe's Place Baby Hospice, a charity for sick babies and young children. [9]
He sat on the advisory board for the International Centre for Research in Events, Tourism and Hospitality (ICRETH) 2011 - 2013 based at Leeds Metropolitan University. [10] Jamilly was made an Honorary Doctor of Business by Southampton Solent University on 22 November 2013. [11] Jamilly funded Kindness UK Symposium at the University of Sussex in 2016. [12] He was also a guest speaker at Sheffield Hallam University. [13]

The Teesside Steelworks was a large steelworks that formed a continuous stretch along the south bank of the River Tees from the towns of Middlesbrough to Redcar in North Yorkshire, England. At its height there were 91 blast furnaces within a 10-mile radius of the area. By the end of the 1970s there was only one left on Teesside. Opened in 1979 and located near the mouth of the River Tees, the Redcar blast furnace was the second largest in Europe.

Swales took Redcar from Labour incumbent Vera Baird for the Liberal Democrats at the 2010 general election, with a 21.8% swing. Swales added over 10,000 votes to his 2005 general election total. This was the biggest swing against any Labour candidate in the election and was also biggest majority overcome by any Liberal Democrat, until the 2022 Tiverton and Honiton by-election. He stood down at the 2015 general election.

Anna Catherine Turley is a British former politician. She was the Labour and Co-operative Member of Parliament (MP) for Redcar from 2015 until 2019. Turley was chair of the Co-operative Party from 8 June 2019 until December 2019. She served as chair of the North East Child Poverty Commission (NECPC) from May 2022 to July 2023. She was selected in 2023 to contest the Redcar constituency for Labour.
David Watson is an artist and former shipyard worker born in 1944 at Albion Street, South Bank near Middlesbrough, UK. He attended Middlesbrough College where he studied art along with fellow South Bank artists Len Tabner and David Mulholland. At the age of nineteen earning a living became a priority and Watson went to work at Smiths Dock shipyard on the River Tees as a "red leader" painting the hulls of ships. Watson continued with his art for decades although remained largely unknown until the Kirkleatham Museum in Redcar submitted images of his work to the BBC's "Your Painting" website. In 2012 they were noticed by Mark Parham who now acts as Watson's curator. In 2014 the National Football Museum in Manchester acquired Watson's "Matchday at Ayresome Park".
Redcar Bulk Terminal (RBT), also known as Redcar Ore Terminal, is a privately run dock at the mouth of the Tees Estuary in North Yorkshire, England. The port is used for the transhipment of coal and coke and for many years was the import dock for iron ore destined for Redcar Steelworks under British Steel Corporation, British Steel plc, Corus, Tata Steel Europe and Sahaviriya Steel Industries.

He previously served as Assistant Government Whip between September 2022 and September 2023. He was elected as the member of Parliament (MP) for Redcar at the 2019 general election. He is the first Conservative MP to represent the constituency.
