David Jolley is a horn soloist and chamber musician. [1] [2]
Jolley studied at the Juilliard School in New York. [3] Primarily known for playing the Classical repertoire, Jolley also plays modern music. His discography includes a recording of two Mozart horn concertos with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. He is currently on the faculty of Mannes School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, and Queens College, City University of New York. [4]
Shulamit Ran is an Israeli-American composer. She moved from Israel to New York City at 14, as a scholarship student at the Mannes College of Music. Her Symphony (1990) won her the Pulitzer Prize for Music. In this regard, she was the second woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Music, the first being Ellen Taaffe Zwilich in 1983. Ran was a professor of music composition at the University of Chicago from 1973 to 2015. She has performed as a pianist in Israel, Europe and the U.S., and her compositional works have been performed worldwide by a wide array of orchestras and chamber groups.
Cool jazz is a style of modern jazz music that arose in the United States after World War II. It is characterized by relaxed tempos and lighter tone, in contrast to the fast and complex bebop style. Cool jazz often employs formal arrangements and incorporates elements of classical music. Broadly, the genre refers to a number of post-war jazz styles employing a more subdued approach than that found in other contemporaneous jazz idioms. As Paul Tanner, Maurice Gerow, and David Megill suggest, "the tonal sonorities of these conservative players could be compared to pastel colors, while the solos of [Dizzy] Gillespie and his followers could be compared to fiery red colors."
Eugene George Istomin was an American pianist. He was a winner of the Leventritt Award and recorded extensively as a soloist and in a piano trio in which he collaborated with Isaac Stern and Leonard Rose.

Paul Moravec is an American composer and a University Professor at Adelphi University on Long Island, New York and also a member of the composition department of the Mannes School of Music. Already a prolific composer, he has been described as a "new tonalist." He is best known for his work Tempest Fantasy, which received the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for Music. Among his compositions are two operas: The Letter (2009) and The Shining (2016).
Mannes School of Music is a music conservatory in The New School, a private research university in New York City. In the fall of 2015, Mannes moved from its previous location on Manhattan's Upper West Side to join the rest of the New School campus in Arnhold Hall at 55 W. 13th Street.
West Coast jazz refers to styles of jazz that developed in Los Angeles and San Francisco during the 1950s. West Coast jazz is often seen as a subgenre of cool jazz, which consisted of a calmer style than bebop or hard bop. The music relied relatively more on composition and arrangement than on the individually improvised playing of other jazz styles. Although this style dominated, it was not the only form of jazz heard on the American West Coast.

Lewis Kaplan, born on November 10, 1933, is an American violinist, and pedagogue. He is a senior professor in violin and chamber music at the Juilliard School and has been on the faculty at Mannes School of Music since 1987, both located in New York City.
Philip F. Myers is an American French horn virtuoso and pedagogue. In 2017, he retired from his post as Principal Horn of the New York Philharmonic and remains active as a soloist worldwide. After his retirement, the orchestra did not immediately name any successor as principal horn; in such cases, the position is called "acting principal horn" until a successor is announced.
Jan Bach was an American composer. He taught at the University of Tampa (Florida) from 1965 to 1966 and at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois from 1966 to 2002. His primary performing instrument was the horn, and he was renowned among hornists for his horn pieces. He also played the piano.

Valerie Coleman is an American composer and flutist as well as the creator of the wind quintet, Imani Winds. Coleman is a distinguished artist of the century who was named Performance Today's 2020 Classical Woman of the year and was listed as “one of the Top 35 Women Composers” in the Washington Post. In the year 2019, Valerie Coleman composed a piece titled Umoja, Anthem for Unity which was performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra. This achievement was a very special one because it was the first time that a living African-American woman composer was commissioned by the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Brandon Patrick George is an American flutist. He studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with Michel Debost, in Paris with Sophie Cherrier, and received a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music. He was appointed flutist of Imani Winds in 2018, succeeding founder Valerie Coleman. Brandon has appeared as a soloist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Albany Symphony Orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, and with the Orchestra of St. Luke's chamber ensembles. Prior to his work as a solo and chamber musician, Brandon performed as a guest with American orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the International Contemporary Ensemble. A Resident Artist with Imani Winds at the Mannes School of Music at The New School, Brandon is on the faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music. He plays the Verne Q. Powell platinum flute made for the 1939 World's Fair, which was previously owned by William Kincaid, and displayed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Musical Instrument Collection. Brandon's album of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Pierre Boulez, Kalevi Aho, and Sergei Prokofiev was released by Hänssler Classics in September 2020. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
