David Kristol (born 1938) is an emeritus professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). [1] He created the Biomedical Engineering department at NJIT, but he spent most of his career working as a chemistry professor.
New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is a public research university in Newark, New Jersey with a graduate-degree-granting satellite campus in Jersey City. Founded in 1881 with the support of local industrialists and inventors especially Edward Weston, NJIT opened as Newark Technical School (NTS) in 1885 with 88 students. The school grew into a classic engineering college – Newark College of Engineering (NCE) – and then with the addition of a School of Architecture in 1973, into a polytechnic university that now hosts five colleges and one school. As of fall 2021 the university enrolls about 11,900 students from 83 countries, 2,500 of whom live on its main campus in Newark's University Heights district.

Edward ("Ted") Hance Shortliffe is a Canadian-born American biomedical informatician, physician, and computer scientist. Shortliffe is a pioneer in the use of artificial intelligence in medicine. He was the principal developer of the clinical expert system MYCIN, one of the first rule-based artificial intelligence expert systems, which obtained clinical data interactively from a physician user and was used to diagnose and recommend treatment for severe infections. While never used in practice, its performance was shown to be comparable to and sometimes more accurate than that of Stanford infectious disease faculty. This spurred the development of a wide range of activity in the development of rule-based expert systems, knowledge representation, belief nets and other areas, and its design greatly influenced the subsequent development of computing in medicine.

The Capstone Program is a combination of senior-level courses offered to students at the New Jersey Institute of Technology under NJIT’s College of Computing Sciences, which offers the Computer Science, Information Systems, and Information Technology majors. The course can also be taken as an elective by students from other disciplines at the school, such as Management, Engineering, or Architecture.

The Henry Samueli School of Engineering (HSSoE) is the academic unit of the University of California, Irvine that oversees academic research and teaching in disciplines of the field of engineering. Established when the campus opened in 1965, the school consists of five departments, each of which is involved in academic research in its specific field, as well as several interdisciplinary fields. Ming Li is a Canadian computer scientist, known for his fundamental contributions to Kolmogorov complexity, bioinformatics, machine learning theory, and analysis of algorithms. Li is currently a professor of Computer Science at the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo. He holds a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Bioinformatics. In addition to academic achievements, his research has led to the founding of two independent companies.
Craig Gotsman is the Dean of the Ying Wu College of Computing at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), where he is a Distinguished Professor. Before NJIT, he was the Founding Director of the joint Jacobs Technion-Cornell Innovation Institute at Cornell Tech.
Treena Livingston Arinzeh is Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University in New York, New York, joining in 2022. She was formerly a Distinguished Professor in Biomedical Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey. She is known for her research on adult stem-cell therapy. Arinzeh takes part in the American Chemical Society's Project Seeds program, opening up her lab for high school students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds for summer internships.
Vivek A. Kumar is an American scientist, innovator and entrepreneur. He is faculty at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine; he was also previously the Dhiraj Shah Faculty Fellow at the NJIT Albert Dorman Honors College. At NJIT, he is the director of the KumarLab for Biomaterial Drug Discovery, Delivery, and Development Lab.
Baruch M. Schieber is a Professor of the Department of Computer Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and Director of the Institute for Future Technologies.
