David Owen Brown (born 8 December 1982 in Burnley, Lancashire) is an English first-class cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and right-armed medium bowler.

Early life

Brown was born in Burnley, Lancashire, attending Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in neighbouring Blackburn. [1] Like many of his family, he began playing cricket for Burnley Cricket Club. [2] His older brother, Michael, played for Surrey. [3]

Career

Brown played for Gloucestershire County Cricket Club from 2006 until 2009. At the end of the 2009 season Brown joined Glamorgan County Cricket Club. He has also represented Durham UCCE, British Universities and Lancashire 2nd XI.

Frank Howe Sugg was an English footballer and first-class cricketer. He played for England in two Test matches in 1888 and for three county cricket clubs – Yorkshire in 1883, Derbyshire from 1884 to 1886 and Lancashire from 1887 to 1899. He also played for five football clubs.

Jack Crossland

John "Jack" Crossland was an English professional cricketer who played first-class cricket between 1878 and 1887. Crossland was recognised as one of the fastest bowlers in county cricket, but critics generally believed that he threw, rather than bowled the ball, a practice illegal in cricket. Contemporaries suggest that, but for the suspicions over his bowling action, Crossland would have played Test cricket for England.

Karl Robert Brown is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler who played for Lancashire until 2018. Brown made his first-class debut in 2006 and his list A debut the following year. Between 2005 and 2007, Brown played 15 Youth One Day Internationals. In 2011, Brown scored his maiden centuries in first-class and list A cricket and debuted for Lancashire in twenty20s.

Jonathan Luke Clare is an English cricketer who formerly played for Derbyshire. An all-rounder, he is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler.

Arthur A. Bell was an English footballer who played as an inside forward. He started his career with Burnley Belvedere before joining Football League side Burnley in 1902. Over the next seven years, Bell made 101 league appearances and scored 28 goals for the Lancashire club. During his career, he won three caps for the England national amateur football team. An architect by trade, Bell also played as an amateur cricketer for Burnley Cricket Club for 20 years, during which time he won five Lancashire League championships. He was selected to represent the Lancashire Second XI on three occasions.

David Hamilton is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He won caps for the England national under-19 football team. He is currently a scout for Championship side Ipswich Town, which he joined in February 2011. He was born in South Shields and was one of three brothers to become a footballer. He also played amateur cricket.

Luke Anthony Procter is an English cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler who plays for Northamptonshire.

Albert Edward Nutter was an English cricketer who played over 200 first-class matches, mostly for Lancashire and Northamptonshire. He was a right-handed batsman and bowled at a medium fast pace. Born in the town of Burnley, he made his first-class debut for Lancashire in August 1935 at the age of 22. Nutter spent 10 years with Lancashire, during which time he played 70 matches for the side. In June 1939, he achieved his highest ever first-class score of 109 not out in the County Championship match against Nottinghamshire. During the same summer he spent one match as the club professional at Accrington Cricket Club in the Lancashire League.
