David Pearce (born March 30,1960,in Warrensburg,Missouri) is a former Senator and currently the Executive Director for Government Relations at the University of Central Missouri. [3] Previously,being a Republican member of the Missouri Senate,he represented the 31st and 21st District from 2009 to 2017. Prior to that,he was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 2003 to 2009.
Before assuming his role at the University of Central Missouri in 2019,Sen. Pearce served as the Senior Policy Coordinator at the Missouri State Treasurer's Office. Sen. Pearce served as chair of the Senate Education Committee for five years and served on the Appropriations Committee for his entire tenure in the Senate. He also served on the Agriculture Committee and served as Chair of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact and served on the Missouri Veteran’s Commission. [4]
In addition,David Pearce currently serves on the Whiteman Area Leadership Council Board of Directors,and the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee. He is also active in the Missouri Chamber of Commerce Tech Caucus.
A 1978 graduate of Warrensburg High School,Sen. Pearce attended the University of Central Missouri (then Central Missouri State University) and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-journalism from the University of Missouri in 1984. He resides in Warrensburg with his wife,Teresa. They have two children:Molly and Andrew,and two grandchildren.
