David Riley Pitts is an American healthcare administrator, chief executive, and philatelist.
Pitts earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University. He also holds a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts in public administration from the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. [1]
David Pitts began his career in the United States military and served in hospitals in the United States, England and Vietnam. He served in senior positions in the offices of the Surgeon General of the United States and the Surgeon General of the United States Air Force. [1] [2] He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal and the Bronze Star. [2]
Pitts was the chief executive officer of the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans before founding Pitts Management Associates in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. [1] [3] [4]
Pitts served on Amedisys NASDAQ: AMED board of directors for 17 years. He was named non-executive Co-Chairman in February 2014, before resigning in August 2014.

Pitts is a specialist in the philately of Bermuda. His exhibit, Bermuda: Crossroads of the Atlantic has been shown before the members of the Royal Philatelic Society London, of which Pitts is a fellow, and the Collectors Club of New York. [2] The exhibit won a large gold medal at Brasiliana 2013, [7] the only Bermuda exhibit to win a medal at that level. [2]

The Inverted Head Four Annas of India is a postage stamp prized by collectors. The 1854 first issues of India included a Four Annas value in red and blue. It was one of the world's first multicolored stamps; the Basel Dove preceded it by nine years. However, an invert error occurred during production, showing the head "upside down."
David Feldman MA. BBS, RDP(I).FRPSL is a professional philatelist, auctioneer, art specialist and author. He held his first stamp auction in 1967. Feldman is Honorary Chairman of David Feldman SA, a Geneva-based auction company, through which he attained record prices for some of the world's most famous postage stamps. In 1993, Feldman auctioned the "Bordeaux Cover", which comprised the 1847 1d Orange-red and the 2d Deep Blue Mauritius "Post Office" stamps, which brought 6,175,000 Swiss francs including all commissions, at that time the highest price ever paid for any philatelic item. He also sold the unique 1855 Sweden Treskilling Yellow stamp at auction in 1996, which at the time was the highest price ever paid for a single stamp, for which he was pictured in the Guinness Book of Records. That record was eclipsed in 2014 by the sale of the British Guiana 1c magenta.
Theodore Edwin Steinway, of the Steinway piano family, was a member of the Collectors Club of New York and board of trustees of the Philatelic Foundation. He was awarded the first Lichtenstein Medal in 1952 for his efforts in the field of philately as well as his contributions to the growth and prestige of the Collectors Club.
John Robert Boker Jr. was an American philatelist who amassed some of the most prestigious collections of 19th century stamps ever seen by stamp collectors. The Royal Philatelic Society London award the Lee Medal in memory of Alma and her husband Ron.
Meiso Mizuhara was a Japanese philatelist who was known for his award-winning collections of the stamps and postal history of the countries of Asia and his books on those subjects. His collection of Chinese stamps and postal history was exceeded in importance only by that of Sir Percival David.
John Alexander Agnew was a New Zealand mining engineer who worked with future United States president Herbert Hoover and later became chairman of Consolidated Gold Fields, the first chairman of the firm to be from a mining engineering background. In his spare time he was a noted philatelist whose collection of Chinese stamps and postal history was regarded as one of the finest of his era.
Mehmet Ismet Başaran is a Turkish-born British chemical engineer and philatelist. He is an authority on the tughra stamps of 1863–65 of the Ottoman Empire and has won several gold medals for his collection of those issues. He has written two books on the stamps as well as a number of articles about them. He is a former fellow of the Royal Philatelic Society London and president of the Oriental Philatelic Association of London.
