David Drummond Sherlaw was a Scottish professional footballer who played as a forward in the Football League for Charlton Athletic, Brentford and Bristol City. He also played in the Scottish League for Bathgate, Montrose, St Johnstone, St Bernard's and Leith Athletic.
A forward, Sherlaw began his career at Scottish League Second Division club Bathgate, [1] before moving to England to sign for Third Division South high-flyers Bristol City in May 1925. [3] Six goals and 21 appearances later, he moved to struggling divisional rivals Charlton Athletic in January 1926. [3] Sherlaw again moved within the Third Division South to join Brentford in 1928 and scored 8 goals in 29 appearances during the 1928–29 season. [1] [4] He fell out of first team contention and returned to Scotland to sign for Second Division club St Johnstone in 1932, [1] before finishing his career with Montrose and Leith Athletic. [5]
Sherlaw's great-grandson, Andrew Montgomery, won the Crieff Soccer Centre Player of the Year award in 2008, aged seven. [6]

Andrew McCulloch is an English former professional footballer who played for Queens Park Rangers, Cardiff City, Oxford United, Brentford, Sheffield Wednesday, Crystal Palace and Aldershot. He played a total of 475 games in all competitions for his seven league clubs, scoring 153 goals in a career which lasted from 1970 until 1985. McCulloch was a centre forward in the "target man" mould, being 6 ft 2in tall, he was good in the air, using his strong physique to hold off defenders and lay the ball off to teammates. He made one appearance for the Scotland national under 23 team.

During the 1928–29 English football season, Brentford competed in the Football League Third Division South. An unbeaten start to the season was cancelled out by a run of 11 defeats in 12 games which left the Bees bottom of the Football League, but the team recovered to finish in mid-table.
During the 1977–78 English football season, Brentford competed in the Football League Fourth Division. 58 goals from Steve Phillips and Andrew McCulloch helped the club to a 4th-place finish and promotion to the Third Division. Phillips' 36 goals was the most in English league football by any player during the season.
