David Simbi is a Zimbabwean engineer and a Professor of Corrosion Engineering. He is the Vice-Chancellor of the Chinhoyi University of Technology.
David Simbi is a distinguished scholar and professional metallurgical engineer who graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in applied chemistry from the University of Portsmouth (then Portsmouth Polytechnic) in 1981. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in metallurgy from the University of Leeds in 1985. After a short stint with the Zimbabwe Iron and Steel Company (1985 – 1988), Professor Simbi joined the University of Zimbabwe in August 1988 as a lecturer in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering. Professor Simbi has received numerous academic honours and awards and has also presented papers at local and international conferences.

Professor Simbi represented the Faculty of Engineering at several committees of the University of Zimbabwe (Research Board, Open days, Teacher Education, Academic, Institute of Development Studies, Institute of Environmental Science, Budget (Sciences area) and Honorary Degrees).
He also served as Proctor (Faculty of Engineering: 1990–1994; 1996; 1998–1999).
In 2005, Professor Simbi was appointed Pro- Vice Chancellor of Chinhoyi University of Technology and ultimately Vice Chancellor in 2007.
Professor Simbi continues to work with the University of Zimbabwe in the resuscitation of programmes in the Departments of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering. His contribution to the development of engineering education nationally and internationally is remarkable [1]

Patcha Ramachandra Rao was a metallurgist and administrator. He has the unique distinction of being the only Vice-Chancellor (2002–05) of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) who was also a student (1963–68) and faculty (1964–92) at that institution. From 1992 to 2002, Rao was the Director of the National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur. Kuppuswamy Anantha Padmanabhan is an Indian academician well known for his contributions in the field of materials & metallurgical science and engineering. In particular, he is well renowned for his contributions to superplasticity. He is currently professor of eminence (honorary), Anna University, Chennai; member, Research and Innovation Advisory Board, TCS and a research advisor to TCS and Aditya Birla S&T Company. He is a former director of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and a former dean, academic research, IIT Madras, India. In 1994, he became the first Indian to receive the "Forschungspreis" of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany. For his research contributions, the University of Cambridge, UK, conferred on him the highest academic degree ‘Sc.D’ in 1998, and he is the first Indian engineer/ materials specialist to be conferred this honour. He also served as the Mercator Professor of DFG at the Institute of Materials Physics, University of Münster, Germany.
Georges John Kipouros is a Greek Canadian materials engineer, university professor, and former dean of the University of Saskatchewan College of Engineering. He presently serves as adjunct professor at the Faculty of Engineering of both Dalhousie University and University of Waterloo. He is the winner of the 20th Canadian Metal Chemistry Award, and is known as an ambassador for the engineering profession in Canada. At Dalhousie University he served as the vice chair of the Senate, assistant dean of the Faculty of Engineering, director of the Minerals Engineering Centre and head of the Mining and Metallurgical Engineering Department. He is known for his contributions to the processing of aluminum, magnesium, rare earth metals and molten salts, as well as the analysis of corrosion in additive manufacturing. In addition he is known as a major expert in powder metallurgy. He is the inventor of a technique for measuring metal corrosion in active pipelines, allowing for early detection of problem areas. At General Motors, he integrated the recovery and recycling of reactants into the production of neodymium from its oxide, rendering the process more cost-effective. He also led the technology transfer from laboratory research to plant production.
