Dawson's Cove, also known as Sandyville, is a small settlement, about 2 km away from the small outport community of Hermitage, that is a neighborhood of the town of Hermitage-Sandyville. Located on the southern shore of Newfoundland, Dawson's Cove is in Connaigre Bay, a finger-like projection of Newfoundland's Fortune Bay.
The town currently has an approximate population of around 60. The Dawson's Cove Post Office closed on September 13, 1966.

Division No. 1, Subdivision A is an unorganized subdivision on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is in Division No. 1, and lies between Trinity Bay and Placentia Bay.
Upper Island Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador is a town in Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located in Division 1, Newfoundland and Labrador census division. It is north east of Bay Roberts. The Way office was established in 1864. The population was 942 in 1940; 1,346 in 1951, 1,563 in 1956, and 1762 in 1966. As of 2001, the population is 1,774.
Fortune Bay—Cape La Hune is a provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. When created in 1975 it was called Fortune-Hermitage. As of 2011, there are 6,053 eligible voters living within the district.

Fortune Bay is a fairly large natural bay located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the south coast of Newfoundland, Canada. The Bay is bounded by Point Crewe on the Burin Peninsula and Pass Island at the entrance to Hermitage Bay to the northwest for a distance of 56 kilometers. The bay extends in a northeast direction for 105 kilometers ending at Terrenceville.
Facheux Bay was the location of a small fishing settlement of the same name. In 1901 it had a population of 47. The community was also called Fachier, Facheaux, and Fouche. Facheux Bay is a deep fjord that separates Eastern Head and Western Head of Hermitage Bay, Newfoundland, Canada. Facheux bay is 2.25 miles (3.62 km) west of Mosquito Cove. The entrance is between two steep falls in high hills. The bay runs in 6.5 miles (10.5 km), with an average width of 0.75 miles (1.21 km), and has deep water throughout. On the west side are three coves with anchorage in 20 to 10 fathoms.
Harbour Breton is a small fishing community on the Connaigre Peninsula in Fortune Bay, on the south coast of the island of Newfoundland in Canada. It is the largest center on the Connaigre Peninsula and was long considered the unofficial capital of Fortune Bay. Many residents resettled from Sagona Island, Jersey Harbour, Little Bay West, Miller's Passage, Red Cove, and Grole.
Gaultois is a small settlement in the Coast of Bays area in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Gaultois had a population of 136 people as of 2016. The town has a K-12 school called Victoria Academy, as well as a fire department, public library, Lion's Club, and town hall. The town is only accessible by ferry or helicopter. The ferry runs from the nearby town of Hermitage several times daily and the crossing takes approximately 20 minutes. This ferry also services the more remote community of McCallum once to twice daily with a crossing time of around one hour and fifteen minutes.

St. Jacques-Coomb's Cove is a town in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The town had a population of 669 in the Canada 2006 Census. It is located on the south coast of the island of Newfoundland on the north side of Fortune Bay, on the southern tip of the Connaigre Peninsula in what is now known as the Coast of Bays Region. The town consists of six communities, St. Jacques, English Harbour West, Mose Ambrose, Boxey, Coomb's Cove and Wreck Cove, nestled within the inlets along the coast. They all had their beginnings in the fisheries and the fisheries have always been the mainstay of employment in the communities. In recent years aquaculture was introduced in the area, providing employment for its residents.

Pass Island is a resettled community located on the Southern Shore of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Many remnants from previous settlements are still visible across the ocean separating it from the community of Seal Cove, Fortune Bay. Many of the settlers from previously existent insular communities of Pass Island, were resettled to the communities of Hermitage-Sandyville and Harbour Breton.
Hermitage Bay is an expansive bay stretching out along the south coast of Newfoundland. It is a body of Gulf of St. Lawrence which is near the Connaigre Peninsula. On its south, it is bordered by the Hermitage peninsula and the communities of Seal Cove, Hermitage and Sandyville. On its north side it is flanked by the communities of McCallum on mainland Newfoundland and by Gaultois on Long Island. Long Island separates Hermitage Bay from Bay d'Espoir farther inland to the north.
