Dayantha Sepala Wijeyesekera (born September 1942) is a Sri Lankan academic and civil engineer. [1] He was the first vice chancellor of Open University of Sri Lanka in 1983. He later served as Chairman, Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Skills Development of Sri Lanka. He was also the vice chancellor of University of Moratuwa from 1999 to 2005.
In 2011, he was named chancellor of the University of Vocational Technology (UNIVOTEC). [2] In 2011, his paper titled "Post Tsunami infrastructure rehabilitation in Sri Lanka" was runner-up at a Competition on Papers at the Asia Pacific Convention of the Institution of Civil Engineers-ICE (London) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A professor of Agriculture, he was the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya from 2000 to 2006. Before serving as the vice chancellor of the Peradeniya University, he also served as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.

Daya W. K. Sandagiri was the 14th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy. Admiral Sandagiri was born in Veyangoda and had his education at St. Mary's Maha Vidyalaya, Veyangoda and Kegalu Vidyalaya, Kegalle. He enlisted in the then Royal Ceylon Navy on 14 November 1966 and was in the first batch of naval cadets to join the Naval and Maritime Academy at Trincomalee on 1 July 1969.
