The Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series is an award presented annually by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS). It will be first awarded at the 52nd Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony in October 2025. It is presented to honor an actor or actress who has delivered an outstanding performance as an “emerging talent” while working within the daytime drama industry.
To be considered for this category, performers must be “on their first Daytime contract with no previous Daytime Emmy acting nominations,” must have been part of their Daytime Drama for two years or less, and must appear in a speaking role with at least one multi-episode story arc. [1] While the retired Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama Series category imposed an age limit, this category has “no age restriction.” [1]
The Emmy was named after an "Immy," an affectionate term used to refer to the image orthicon camera tube. [2] The statuette was designed by Louis McManus, who modeled the award after his wife, Dorothy. [2] The Emmy statuette is fifteen inches tall from base to tip, weighs five pounds and is composed of iron, pewter, zinc and gold. [2]
Listed below are the winners of the award for each year, as well as the other nominees.
