DeWayne McBride (born July 8, 2001) is an American football running back for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at UAB, where he was named the 2022 Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for over 1,700 yards with 19 touchdowns.
McBride attended Vanguard High School in Ocala, Florida. As a senior, McBride recorded 936 yards and 12 touchdowns. [1] A three-star recruit, McBride committed to play college football at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
As a freshman in 2020, McBride played in six games, tallying 439 yards on 47 carries while scoring four touchdowns. [2] Against Louisiana Tech, McBride ran for a 75-yard touchdown, breaking the record for the longest touchdown rush in school history. [3] McBride entered the 2021 season on the Conference USA (C-USA) preseason all-conference team and on the Doak Walker Award preseason watch list. [4] [5] In 2021, McBride rushed 205 times for 1,371 yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging 6.72 yards per carry and recording over 100 yards rushing six times. [6] [7] [8] McBride rushed for a then career high 210 yards and four touchdowns in a win against Louisiana Tech. [9] At the end of the season, McBride was named to the Second team All-C-USA. [10] Entering the 2022 season, McBride was once again named to the Doak Walker Award preseason watch list while also being named to the Maxwell Award preseason watch list. [11] [12] In 2022, McBride led the NCAA in total rushing yards with 1,713, and led the nation in yards per game (155.7). He also broke the school's record for rushing yards in a game, totaling a career high 272 yards, and rushing touchdowns in a single season with 19. [13] [14] As a result, McBride was named the C-USA's Offensive Player of the Year. [15] McBride would forgo playing in the 2022 Bahamas Bowl and declared for the 2023 NFL draft. [16] He played 31 games during his college career, recording 484 rushing attempts for 3,523 yards and 36 touchdowns. [17]

McBride was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round with the 222nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. [20] He was waived on August 29, 2023, and signed to the practice squad the next day. [21] [22] Following the end of the 2023 regular season, the Vikings signed him to a reserve/future contract on January 8, 2024. [23]
Shonn Greene is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes, earning unanimous All-American honors and winning the Doak Walker Award and the Jim Brown Trophy in 2008. He was selected by the New York Jets in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft. After four seasons with the Jets, Greene then played two more seasons for the Tennessee Titans.
Joseph Webb III is a former American football quarterback. He also played as a kick returner. After playing college football for the UAB Blazers, Webb was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft as a quarterback. He has also played for the Carolina Panthers, the Buffalo Bills, and the Houston Texans. Webb holds the NFL record for most tackles by a quarterback with 21.
Jordan Todman is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Connecticut Huskies, earning first-team All-American honors in 2010. Todman was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has also played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, and Houston Texans.

Devin Singletary, nicknamed "Motor", is an American football running back for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Florida Atlantic. As a sophomore in 2017, he led all Division I FBS players with 32 rushing touchdowns, 33 combined rushing and receiving touchdowns, and 198 points scored, and finished with 1,920 rushing yards. He was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. He has also played for the Houston Texans.

The 2022 Bahamas Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 16, 2022, at Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. The eighth annual Bahamas Bowl, the game featured the UAB Blazers, from Conference USA, and the Miami RedHawks, from the Mid-American Conference. The game began at 11:35 a.m. EST and aired on ESPN. It was the first of the 2022–23 bowl games concluding the 2022 FBS football season. Sponsored by mortgage lender HomeTown Lenders, it was officially known as the HomeTown Lenders Bahamas Bowl.
