Melodía Ruiz Gutiérrez, best known by her stage name Melody, is a Spanish singer. Melody became famous at the age of 10 with her song "El baile del gorila", one of the biggest summer hits of 2001 in Spain. She has released six albums and numerous singles.
Arrasando is the sixth studio album by Mexican singer Thalía, released on 25 April 2000, by EMI Latin. She collaborated with producers like Emilio Estefan, Roberto Blades and Lawrence Dermer. In many interviews during the album launch, Thalía said that this album was different from her previous ones, because it shows her turn to a more dance/techno-infuenced sound, describing it as a fusion between many types of music. Thalía co-wrote eight songs on the album, in addition, it includes two covers: the South African hit "Pata Pata" and Gloria Estefan's "Lucky Girl".
"Que Lloren" (English: Let Them Cry) is a song by Puerto Rican reggaetón recording artist Ivy Queen, from her sixth studio album, Sentimiento (2007). It was composed by Queen, produced by Monserrate & DJ Urba, and released as the lead single off the album in January 2007. Lyrically, the song degrades the stereotype that men shouldn't cry and they are weak if they show emotions. The song gained positive to mixed reviews from critics, reaching the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs, Latin Rhythm Airplay, and Latin Tropical Airplay charts. A remix version with Tito "El Bambino", Naldo and Arcángel was also recorded and featured on the platinum edition of the album, after Sentimiento was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on May 10, 2007, two months after the standard edition was released. Ivy Queen performed the song at Latin Grammy Awards of 2007. It was included on the set of her 2008 World Tour which was held from the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum known as the Coliseum of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The song's accompanying music video was filmed in Downtown Miami, Florida. It was directed by Marlon Peña.
"A Puro Dolor" is a song recorded by Puerto Rican band Son by Four. It was written by Omar Alfanno and released as the first single of the second studio album of the band in 1999. Two versions of the track were produced by Oscar Llord for the album; one as a salsa and the other as a ballad. The ballad version was arranged by Alejandro Jaén.
"Para Siempre" ("Forever") is a song written and produced by Mexican singer-songwriter Joan Sebastian and recorded by Mexican performer Vicente Fernández. It was released as the lead single from Fernández' 79th studio album Para Siempre.
"Nunca Voy a Olvidarte" is a song written by Roberto Belester and first recorded by Mexican norteño band Bronco for their album Salvaje y Tierno (1991). In 1993, Mexican singer-songwriter Cristian Castro covered the song on his album, Un Segundo en el Tiempo. The year-end charts for the Hot Latin Songs chart are published in the last issue of Billboard magazine every year. Initially, the chart was based on information provided by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems, which collected airplay information from Latin radio stations in the United States. On the week ending October 20, 2012, the methodology was changed to track the best-performing Spanish-language songs based on digital downloads, streaming activity, and airplay from all radio stations in the country. The Year-End charts represent aggregated numbers from the weekly charts that were compiled for each artist, song and record company.
"Yerbatero" is a rock song by Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes released as the lead single from his fifth studio album P.A.R.C.E.. It was released digitally on June 10, 2010 through Universal Records. A Digital EP with three remixes was released later on October 12, 2010. It is also released a Banda version of the song on October 19, 2010.
"Taboo" is the second single from Don Omar's collaborative album Meet the Orphans released on January 24, 2011 through Universal Latino. The song is re-adapted version from Los Kjarkas's song "Llorando se fue" most commonly known for its use in Kaoma's 1989 hit single "Lambada" fused with Latin beats. The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Latin Songs, becoming his third number one single on the chart.
De pata negra is the first studio album by Spanish singer Melody. It was released in Spain two weeks after the single "El baile del gorila". The album sold more than 600,000 copies worldwide.
"Dime" is a song by Puerto Rican reggaetón recording artist Ivy Queen, from her first live album, Ivy Queen 2008 World Tour LIVE! (2008). It was composed by Queen, with the help of Alex Monserrate Sosa and Urbani Mota Cedeno, who produced the song under their stage name Monserrate & DJ Urba. It was released as the lead single off the album in August 2008. The bachata version was serviced to radio while the Album version appears as the opening track. The album version is a mixture of reggaetón and bachata known as bachaton or bachateo.
"Loco" is the lead Spanish single and overall second single from Enrique Iglesias's album, Sex and Love, featuring American singer Romeo Santos. This is Iglesias' second bachata song after "Cuando Me Enamoro". A banda version of the song was recorded which features Mexican singer Roberto Tapia. Another version of the song featuring Spanish singer India Martínez was released on iTunes on 17 December 2013. At the Latin Grammy Awards of 2014, the song received a nomination for Best Tropical Song.
"El Perdedor" is the second Spanish single from Enrique Iglesias' album Sex and Love. It serves as the opening theme of Mexican telenovela Lo que la vida me robó. This is the fifth time that Enrique's song is chosen as an opening theme of a telenovela after Cosas del Amor, Nunca Te Olvidaré, Cuando Me Enamoro and Marisol. The song was released in the United States and Mexico on 28 October 2013 and was later released to other Latin countries. The song was composed by Iglesias and Descemer Bueno.
A Quien Quiera Escuchar is the tenth studio album by Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin. It was released on February 10, 2015, through Sony Music Latin. It won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
"Ríe y Llora" (English: "Laugh and Cry") is a song performed by Cuban recording artist Celia Cruz. The song was written by Sergio George and Fernando Osorio, produced by George and released as the lead single from Cruz's final studio album Regalo del Alma (2003) on 12 July 2003. It was the final song recorded by Cruz, following being sidelined by a brain trumor and before her death on 16 July 2003.
"Por Ese Hombre" is a song originally recorded by Argentine duo Pimpinela and Spanish singer Dyango for the former's fifth studio album, Lucía y Joaquín (1985). It was covered by American singer Brenda K. Starr and Puerto Rican singers Tito Nieves and Victor Manuelle, as the lead single for Starr's seventh studio album, Temptation (2002). Mexican singer Ana Bárbara and Mexican band La Original Banda El Limón also recorded the song for Bárbara's eleventh studio album, Yo Soy La Mujer (2014).
