Following an early career as a member of the mumblecore movement, he became notable for his works in the horror and action genres, especially the films You're Next (2011), and The Guest (2014), and the bigger budget franchise films Blair Witch (2016), Death Note (2017), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021).

Known for his work in horror and cult films, his career includes projects in film, television and one-man-show theater performances. He first received recognition for his portrayals of icon and humorist Lewis Grizzard as performed in theatrical tours across the Southern United States. His role as the creepy 'Facebook Stalker' in the online interactive video film Take This Lollipop, which uses the Facebook Connect application to bring viewers themselves into the film through use of their own pictures and messages from Facebook, brought him widespread attention after the project received multiple Webby Awards nominations, three awards at SXSW, and a 2012 Daytime Emmy Award.

Rodrigo Gudiño is a Mexican Canadian film director and editor, known for being the founder of the horror magazine and company Rue Morgue. He currently serves as the company's president and also helps coordinate and program for several of the festivals and events that Rue Morgue holds or sponsors. Gudiño previously worked as the magazine's editor-in-chief before leaving the position to focus on making films. His short films were collected into the DVD Curious Stories, Crooked Symbols in 2009.
