Debabrata Das is a professor, academician, and academic administrator who served as the third Vice Chancellor of Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management, Sivasagar, Assam. He assumed charge as the VC on 8th March 2022. ^[1]

Das is currently serving as the Advisor (Higher Education) to the Government of Assam, acts as the chairperson, advisor, board member of various universities, and higher education institutions. ^[2]

Before his appointment as the VC of Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management, Prof. Das was serving as the Member of Arunachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission, Itanagar. ^[3]

He is the professor on lien at Tezpur University. He also served as the Director of the Centre for Open and Distance Learning at the same university. Earlier, he worked at Arunachal University (currently Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar) during 1996-1999 and Gauhati University, Guwahati during 1999-2009. His areas of research include business, finance management, banking, insurance, capital management, and other interconnected areas in business and administration. ^{[4] [5]}
