The Sri Lanka national netball team is the national netball team of Sri Lanka. The team is coached by Thilaka Jinadasa and captained by Chathurangi Jayasooriya. As of 21 July 2019, Sri Lanka are ranked 18th in the world.

Kandy (Mahanuwara) electoral district is one of the 22 multi-member electoral districts of Sri Lanka created by the 1978 Constitution of Sri Lanka. Other popular sports are water sports, badminton, athletics, football, basketball and tennis. Sri Lanka's schools and colleges regularly organize sports and athletics teams, competing on provincial and national levels.

Himasha Eshan Waththakankanamge is a Sri Lankan sprint athlete specializing in the 200 and 100 metres. He is the current South Asian and Sri Lankan record holder in the 100 M sprint with the time of 10.26. Himasha was found positive for banned substance methylhexamine in 2012 and kept out of the field for one year by Sri Lanka, but he came strong soon after the ban by winning the national championship. His South Asian as well as national record in the men's 100m event was shattered by his fellow compatriot Yupun Abeykoon on 8 September 2020.

Sri Lanka National Deaf Cricket Team represents Sri Lanka in international deaf cricket arena. The team consists of players who are having hearing problems (deaf). The team also participated in the 3rd edition of the 2017 Deaf Cricket Asia Cup tournament in India. The team ended up as runnersup to India in the finals, lost the match by a big margin of 156 runs.

Tharjini Sivalingam is a former Sri Lankan veteran netball player and former skipper of the Sri Lankan national netball team. She has been a regular member of Sri Lankan netball team in international netball tournaments since making her debut in 2009. She is known for her unusually tall height and considered as one of the marquee players in Sri Lankan netball history. She is often regarded as the tallest netball player in the world and she is the most capped international netball player to represent Sri Lanka.

Chathurangi Jayasooriya also spelled as Chathurangi Jayasuriya is a Sri Lankan netball player and the current captain of the Sri Lanka national netball team who plays in the positions of goal defense or goal keeper. She has been a regular member of the Sri Lankan team since 2011 and took over the captaincy of the national side from fellow veteran Tharjini Sivalingam in 2017. She plays in the position of goal defense and also as the goal keeper. She also currently serves as the flight lieutenant at the Sri Lanka Air Force.

Gayani Dissanayake is a Sri Lankan netball player and a former captain of the Sri Lanka national netball team who plays in the position of goal defense or goal keeper in international netball tournaments. She is the second most capped player for Sri Lanka after veteran Tharjini Sivalingam.

Mellony Wijesinghe was a Sri Lankan netball player who played in the position of goal shooter in international netball tournaments. She died on 20 October 2019 from suspected leukaemia. Yupun Abeykoon Mudiyansalage also simply known as Yupun Abeykoon is a Sri Lankan track and field athlete and a national record holder in men's 100m and in men's indoor 60m.
