The United States Navy Sea, Air, and Land (SEAL) Teams, commonly known as Navy SEALs, are the U.S. Navy's primary special operations force and a component of the Naval Special Warfare Command. Among the SEALs' main functions are conducting small-unit special operation missions in maritime, jungle, urban, arctic, mountainous, and desert environments. SEALs are typically ordered to capture or kill high level targets, or to gather intelligence behind enemy lines. SEAL team personnel are hand selected, highly trained, and possess a high degree of proficiency in direct action (DA), and special reconnaissance (SR), among other tasks like sabotage, demolition, intelligence gathering, and hydro-graphic reconnaissance, training, and advising friendly militaries or other forces.

Demolition Man is a 1993 American science fiction action film directed by Marco Brambilla in his directorial debut. It stars Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes, Sandra Bullock, and Nigel Hawthorne. Stallone is John Spartan, a risk-taking police officer who has a reputation for causing destruction while carrying out his work. After a failed attempt to rescue hostages from evil crime lord Simon Phoenix (Snipes), they are both sentenced to be cryogenically frozen in 1996. Phoenix is thawed for a parole hearing in 2032, but escapes. Society has changed and all violent crime has seemingly been eliminated. Unable to deal with a criminal as dangerous as Phoenix, the authorities awaken Spartan to help capture him again. The story makes allusions to many other works including Aldous Huxley's 1932 dystopian novel Brave New World and H. G. Wells's The Sleeper Awakes.

The demolition of the Babri Masjid was carried out on 6 December 1992 by a large group of activists of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and allied organisations. The 16th-century Babri Masjid in the city of Ayodhya, in Uttar Pradesh, India, had been the subject of a lengthy socio-political dispute, and was targeted after a political rally organised by Hindu nationalist organisations turned violent.
Dubai Pearl was a 73-storey, 300 m (984 ft), tall residential skyscraper project situated along Al Sufouh Road in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The project was first announced in 2002. Construction was on hold from 2006 to 2022. As per reports, demolition work is ongoing at the site as of January 23rd, 2023. The building would have consisted of four mixed-use towers connected together at the base and by a sky bridge at the top. The structural design was carried out by the Dubai-based engineering firm e-Construct, and the project would have cost $4 billion. Had it been completed, Dubai Pearl would have accommodated 9,000 residents and its commercial sector would have employed 12,000 people.
The Carlton Tavern is a pub in Kilburn, London, originally completed in 1921, that was illegally demolished in 2015 by Tel Aviv-based developer CLTX, which had failed to obtain the necessary planning permission. The Westminster City Council subsequently ordered the pub to be rebuilt. It reopened on 12 April 2021. The pub was the only building in the street to survive the Blitz during World War II.
The McGuire Apartments was a 25-story apartment building in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The $32 million, 272-unit building opened in 2001, but was closed in 2010 after the discovery of major structural flaws and corrosion that forced evacuation and demolition. The building was demolished in 2011 using heavy machinery and filled with dirt. The site was re-excavated in 2017 for a new residential building that opened in 2019.
