Demore Barnes (born February 26, 1976) is a Canadian actor. Barnes is best known for his roles as Sergeant First Class Hector Williams in the CBS military action television series The Unit , the archangel Raphael in Supernatural and Deputy Chief Christian Garland in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit . [1]
Originally from Toronto, Barnes began his career with an appearance on the sketch comedy series Squawk Box on YTV. From there he joined the cast of Street Cents .

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is an American police procedural crime drama television series created by Dick Wolf for NBC. The first spin-off of Law & Order, it stars Mariska Hargitay as Detective Olivia Benson, now the commanding officer of the Special Victims Unit after originally having been Stabler's partner in a fictionalized version of the New York City Police Department, and Christopher Meloni as Detective Elliot Stabler. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit follows the detectives of the Special Victims Unit as they investigate and prosecute sexually based crimes. Some of the episodes are loosely based on real crimes that have received media attention.

The season premiered on September 23, 2021, and concluded on May 19, 2022. The series' milestone 500th episode aired this season as the sixth episode and saw the return of former Detective Nick Amaro and former SVU Captain Don Cragen. This is the last season for Jamie Gray Hyder and Demore Barnes as they departed in the premiere episode. The season consisted of 22 episodes.

He has also appeared in one episode of the Law & Order: Organized Crime spin-off. He was promoted to series regular in SVU after his first three appearances. The character of Velasco was introduced in the 23rd season of SVU as an undercover cop from Ciudad Juarez.
