Deogiri College is an undergraduate and postgraduate, co-educational college along with Research center in many disciplines, situated in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. It was established in the year 1960 by Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. [1] The college is affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. [2]

The post-graduation courses were introduced in 1999, around 36 PG courses are run under this program. [3] Presently Deogiri college has engineering and management science departments as DIEMS has Director Dr. Ulhas Shiurkar [4] as well as Biotech department. It was reaccredited 'A' with CGPA 3.75 (III Cycle) by NAAC in 2017. [1]

Maulana Azad College of Arts and Science was founded in 1963 by Rafiq Zakaria; who formed a trust called Maulana Azad Education Society to manage the affairs. The college building is the Naukhanda palace; a royal palace of the Nizams, once occupied by Nizam Ali Khan, Asaf Jah II.

Gangadhar Vithoba Pantawane was an Indian Marathi language writer, reviewer and Ambedkarite thinker from the state of Maharashtra. He was the follower of B. R. Ambedkar, polymath and the father of the Indian Constitution. He is one of the pioneers of the dalit literary movement in Maharashtra. In 2008, he was elected president of the first Marathi Vishwa Sahitya Sammelan that was held in the United States.
