Derek Belch

Derek Belch (born 1985) [1] is the founder and CEO of virtual reality company Strivr, which helps corporations to create and administer courses for employee training. [2] He was the graduate assistant football coach at Stanford University until 2014 when he left to launch his company. [2] Belch has a BA in communication, an MA in journalism, and an MA in Media Studies, all from Stanford. [3] He also has an MBA from University of Southern California. [4] In 2017, Sports Business Journal included him in their "Forty Under 40" list. [5] While at Stanford he was a kicker for the Stanford Cardinal football team. [1]

Derek Dooley is an American football coach and former player who is a senior offensive analyst for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He served as the head football coach at Louisiana Tech University from 2007 to 2009 and the University of Tennessee from 2010 to 2012.

The 2007 Stanford vs. USC football game was an NCAA college football game held on October 6, 2007, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. In a remarkable upset, the visiting Stanford Cardinal won 24–23 despite USC having been favored by 41 points entering the game. This result was the biggest point spread upset of all time in college football. USC entered the game with a 35-game home game winning streak which included a 24-game home game winning streak in Pac-10 play. By contrast, Stanford had compiled a Pac-10 worst 1–11 season in 2006, which included a 42–0 loss to USC. To compound the situation, Stanford's starting quarterback T. C. Ostrander had suffered a seizure the week before and his replacement, backup quarterback Tavita Pritchard, had never started a game and had thrown just three passes in official play.

David Lorenzo Shaw is an American football coach. He served as head coach of the Stanford Cardinal football team from 2011 to 2022. Shaw was the team's offensive coordinator for the entire tenure of his predecessor, head coach Jim Harbaugh, from 2007 to 2010. Previously, Shaw was a four-year letter winner playing as a wide receiver for the Cardinal from 1991 to 1994, where he was coached by Dennis Green and Bill Walsh. Prior to returning to Stanford as offensive coordinator, Shaw was Harbaugh's passing game coordinator at the University of San Diego and an assistant coach in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, and Baltimore Ravens. Shaw resigned as the Stanford head coach, effective immediately, on November 27, 2022.

Gregory P. Roman is an American football coach. He previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He held the position for four seasons and resigned from the team following the 2022 season. Prior to serving with the Baltimore Ravens, Roman was an assistant coach for the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans and Carolina Panthers.

They played their home games at Stanford Stadium and were members of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished the season 8–5, 5–4 in Pac-12 play to finish in second place in the North Division. They were invited to the Foster Farms Bowl where they defeated Maryland.
