Howrah railway station, also known as Howrah Junction, is a railway station located in the city of Howrah, West Bengal, India. It is one of the busiest train stations in the world. About 600 passenger trains pass through the station each day, utilising its 23 platforms, and serving more than one million passengers per day. Howrah is one of five intercity train stations serving the Kolkata metropolitan area, the others being Sealdah, Santragachi, Shalimar and Kolkata railway stations.
A side platform is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. Dual side platform stations, one for each direction of travel, is the basic station design used for double-track railway lines. Side platforms may result in a wider overall footprint for the station compared with an island platform where a single width of platform can be shared by riders using either track.

The Kolkata Suburban Railway is a suburban rail system serving the Kolkata metropolitan area and its surroundings in India. There are six main lines and nineteen branch lines. The suburban railway operates more than 1500 services, carrying 3,500,000 people daily. It runs from 03:00 until 02:00 and the fares range from ₹5 (7.0¢ US) to ₹20 (28¢ US). The system uses 25 kV 50 Hz AC power supply and runs on 5 ft 6 in broad gauge track. It also has interchange stations with the Kolkata Metro at various locations.
Faisalabad railway station is located in Faisalabad city, Punjab province of Pakistan on the Khanewal-Wazirabad Branch Line. It is the fifth busiest inter-city railway station in South India after Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M G Ramachandran Central Railway Station, Chennai Egmore, Tambaram and Chennai Beach all located in Chennai. It is the busiest railway station in South Western Railway zone of Indian Railways.
