Destination Anywhere was a German ska punk/pop punk band from Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. [1]
The ska-punk band formed in Siegen, Germany, in 2006. [2] Destination Anywhere consists of David Conrad (Singer), Tim Klein (Guitarist), Peter Stock (Drummer), André Rüddigkeit (Bassist), Philipp Schopp (Trumpeter), Christoph Zimmermann (Saxophonist) and Christian Jüngst (Saxophonist). Their first EP is called Coffee, horn & cigarettes and it was released in 2006, while the debut album Sobstuff, Tales & Anthems' in 2008 and has already been downloaded 15,000 times (still available for free on their website). At their concerts were sold 5.000 copies of the album in CD format.
After meeting the producer David Bonk, who worked with Panik, Nevada Tan, Aloha from Hell and LaFee, the band decided to collaborate with him and worked on new songs for their other EP You won't bring me down (2009). Their second album is called Party, Love & Tragedy, it was still produced by David Bonk, released in 2010 and made up of 13 tracks. The two songs "How you feel" and "It's going down" from their second album have their own music videos on YouTube, [2] both directed by Timo Sonnenschein (Ex Panik). According to what the band said, they worked with Bonk again lately and the third album will be available in 2013.
Destination Anywhere supported the German rock band Panik in 2009 and they also played with them in Paris having the opportunity to present their music to a wider public. The band has played at some big music festivals in Germany like Mair1 Festival (2007–2008), The Traffic Jam Open Air (2011) and in 2012 they won "Ringrocker Bandcontest" and had the chance to perform at Rock Am Ring catchting the attention of the public not only for their music but also for the original show they offered, since they were dressed as monkeys and threw bananas from the stage. [3] The Rhein-Zeitung published an article about them and their performance at Rock Am Ring, described as something new in the history of the festival. [4]
On 1 March 2013 the band released their third album entitled Hier ist Godot (Here is Godot).
In spring 2019 the band announced their farewell tour, which took place in October 2019 and ended with a concert in Siegen. [5]
Ska is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. It combined elements of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues. Ska is characterized by a walking bass line accented with rhythms on the off beat. It was developed in Jamaica in the 1960s when Stranger Cole, Prince Buster, Clement "Coxsone" Dodd, and Duke Reid formed sound systems to play American rhythm and blues and then began recording their own songs. In the early 1960s, ska was the dominant music genre of Jamaica and was popular with British mods and with many skinheads.
Rancid is an American punk rock band formed in Berkeley, California in 1991. Founded by Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, former members of the band Operation Ivy, Rancid is often credited as being among the wave of bands that revived mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones were an American ska punk band from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 1983. From the band's inception, lead vocalist Dicky Barrett, bassist Joe Gittleman, tenor saxophonist Tim "Johnny Vegas" Burton and dancer ("Bosstone") Ben Carr remained constant members. The band's final line-up also included drummer Joe Sirois, saxophonist Leon Silva, guitarist Lawrence Katz, keyboardist John Goetchius, and trombonist Chris Rhodes.
Reel Big Fish is an American ska punk band from Huntington Beach, California. The band gained mainstream recognition in the mid-to-late 1990s during the third wave of ska with the release of the gold-certified album Turn the Radio Off. Soon after, the band lost mainstream recognition but gained an underground cult following. As of 2006, the band was no longer signed to a major record label and has since been independent. After numerous line-up changes, frontman Aaron Barrett is the last remaining founding member still performing in the band.

WIZO is a German punk rock band from Sindelfingen, that formed in 1985. WIZO's music is characterized by a combination of humorous and political lyrics with a fast, melodic punk rock sound. They are considered to be part of the German movement known as Fun-Punk. Their lyrics are written in German, and Axel Kurth has spoken about how German lyrics are important so that the music and lyrics go together. They have named three bands as important influences: Normahl, Hass, and The Exploited. Axel Kurth has spoken out about how difficult it is for musicians to make a living with streaming services.
The Suicide Machines are an American punk rock band formed in March 1991 in Detroit, Michigan. During the course of their career, the band has released seven full-length albums on the labels Hollywood Records, Side One Dummy Records and Fat Wreck Chords, as well as several EPs and singles. They have experienced lineup changes over the years, all with founding member Jason Navarro as lead singer and front man. The Planet Smashers are a Canadian ska punk band from Montreal. Since their formation in 1993, they have been a staple of the Montreal music scene. During the third wave of ska, they performed nationally and later internationally, with tours in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Founding member Matt Collyer helped establish Stomp Records in 1994, which featured many ska and ska punk bands, including Montreal's The Kingpins, The Flatliners, The Know How, and Bedouin Soundclash. Their music has been used in the Japanese flash series Catman, Canadian show Radio Free Roscoe, and MTV's Undergrads. Lyrics by The Planet Smashers often deal with topics such as love, partying and good times, and sometimes use tongue-in-cheek innuendo.
Borders & Boundaries is the fourth studio album by ska punk band Less Than Jake. It was released October 24, 2000 on Fat Wreck Chords. The album was recorded at Grand Master Studios in Hollywood, CA, with producer Steve Kravac, and is the final studio album to feature saxophonist Derron Nuhfer and trombonist Pete Anna.

Panik is a German rock band from Neumünster that was established in 2002 under the name Pan!k. This band consisted of David Bonk, Timo "T:Mo" Sonnenschein (rap/vocals), Jan Werner (DJ) and Max Böhlen (drums). The song in concept introduces Alex, who is the central character on the concept album, a reference to Alex DeLarge, from the book A Clockwork Orange.
