Destinee & Paris were an American pop music duo composed of singer-songwriter sisters Destinee and Paris Monroe, who are former members of the teen pop girl group Clique Girlz. They formed the group in 2009 [1] and were signed to Interscope Records. [2] [3] Born and raised in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, now Los Angeles–based, the sisters cite their influences as Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Gwen Stefani.

Destinee Monroe

Destinee Raé Monroe (born June 16, 1994) [4] [5] [6] [7] was referred to as the "rock girl" of the duo. Her icon was a star as when she was little she had something in her eye and her mom said it was a star. [8] Her signature color was blue. She's the older sister. Destinee's hobbies include singing and playing guitar, violin and piano. [9] [10]

Paris Monroe

Paris Quinn Monroe (born January 9, 1996) [4] [5] [11] [12] was referred to as the "princess" of the duo, and her icon was a crown, which she said she loved as a fashion statement. [8] Her signature color was pink. She's the younger sister. She also plays the piano.

Career

Destinee & Paris were the backing vocalists for Season 10 of American Idol in 2011 [13] [14] and appeared on the Disney Channel's So Random in 2012. [15] They were an opening act for the later U.S. dates and the entire European leg of Britney Spears' Femme Fatale Tour in 2011. [16] [17] [18] [19]

Destinee & Paris performed on American Idol-winner Scotty McCreery's first single "I Love You This Big" and contributed the song "I'm on a Roll" to the soundtrack of Despicable Me . [20] Interscope released their first single, "True Love", in August 2011. [21] The music video for "True Love" was directed by Steven Antin and has 2,025,202 views as of October 12, 2021. At the time they were said to be working on their first album, Heart of Mine, with producer RedOne, [22] but there appears to have been no further developments in their career since 2012. [23]

Their self-titled debut album was released in Canada in August 2008 and reached number two on the Canadian Albums Chart. After Anderson left the group in June 2009, Girlicious signed with Universal Music Canada and released their second studio album, Rebuilt, in November 2010. Mejia and Sayers departed the group in February 2011. Nichole Cordova later announced the end of Girlicious, and her joining a new girl group called Girls United.

It was released on March 25, 2011, by Jive Records, and was her last album with the label before they shut down later that year as she was moved to RCA Records. The Femme Fatale Tour was the eighth concert tour by American entertainer Britney Spears. It was launched in support of her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale (2011). It was officially announced in March 2011, initially with dates for North American venues revealed. The tour was originally planned as a co-headlining tour with Enrique Iglesias, but he canceled only hours after the announcement. The show was inspired by the concept of the “femme fatale” and iconic femmes fatales throughout the ages. The setlist was mostly composed of songs from the album Femme Fatale, although Spears also performed hits from her previous albums for her fans. Zaldy Goco designed the costumes. In July 2011, Spears announced her plans of a South American leg on the tour, in territories she either had never been-to or had not played for over a decade. Spears has named the Femme Fatale Tour the “best” show of her career.

Despicable Me: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack to the film of the same name, and it was released on July 6, 2010. It features new songs from the film written, performed, produced and/or composed by Pharrell Williams, and performances by Destinee & Paris, The Sylvers, Robin Thicke, The Bee Gees, and David Bisbal. A soundtrack album including the many other songs that appear in the film has been unofficially unreleased.

On September 9, 2011, Spears announced the release by posting the cover artwork and track listing on her Tumblr account. The album includes remixes of various tracks from her studio albums Blackout (2007), Circus (2008) and Femme Fatale (2011), as well as a remix of "3" and, exclusively in Japan, a remix of "My Prerogative". The remixes were done by disc jockeys such as Kaskade, Tiësto and Benny Benassi. The music was influenced by various subgenres of pop music, such as disco and house. The album was released the same day RCA absorbed Jive Records.

The OMG Girlz is an American teen pop girl group. Their name is a play-on words, it represents being young ladies "Miss" that are "Guided" in positive ways.
