The mission was founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah. It is one of the largest NGOs in Bangladesh and has helped 1.9 million women achieve economic solvency. The mission founded Ahsania Mission Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre. It founded a university, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, the country's first private teachers college, Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Teachers' Training College. The mission also founded Ahsanullah Institute Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institute, Ahsanullah Institute of Information & Communication Technology, Ahsanullah Mission College, and Vocational Training Institute for Working Children. It operates a number of social welfare company including Hajj Finance Company, Boibazar, Nogordola, and Ahsania-Malaysia Hajj Mission. It won the Independence Day Award in 2002, the highest civilian honor in Bangladesh. [4] [5] In 2014 mission opened Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital, the largest cancer hospital in Bangladesh. [6]
Muhammad Ibrahim was a Bangladeshi physician. He established Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM), the diabetes health-care and research institute complex in 1980. The Government of Bangladesh awarded him National Professor and the Independence Day Award in 1978.

Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, commonly known as AUST, is a private university in Bangladesh. It was founded by the Dhaka Ahsania Mission in 1995.
Shahbagh is a major neighbourhood and a police precinct or thana in Dhaka, the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. It is also a major public transport hub. It is a junction between two contrasting sections of the city—Old Dhaka and New Dhaka—which lie, respectively, to its south and north. Developed in the 17th century during Mughal rule in Bengal, when Old Dhaka was the provincial capital and a centre of the flourishing muslin industry, it came to neglect and decay in early 19th century. In the mid-19th century, the Shahbagh area was developed as New Dhaka became a provincial centre of the British Raj, ending a century of decline brought on by the passing of Mughal rule.
Nawab Bahadur Sir Khwaja Ahsanullah KCIE was the third Nawab of Dhaka. He was notable for his philanthropic works in Bengal, most notably his donations to the present Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He also authored books in Persian and Urdu under the pen name of Shaheen. The palace Ahsan Manzil is named after him by his father Khwaja Abdul Ghani.
The National University of Bangladesh is a public collegiate university of Bangladesh that was established in 1992 by an Act of Parliament as an affiliating university of the country to impart graduate and post-graduate level education to the students through its affiliated colleges, schools and professional institutions throughout the country. It is the second largest university in the world according to enrollment. The headquarters is in Gazipur, on the outskirts of Dhaka. After its establishment it affiliated association degree awarding colleges, where many of them were previously affiliated by the University of Dhaka, University of Rajshahi and University of Chittagong.

It was one of the largest and most prosperous cities of South Asia and the center of the worldwide muslin trade. The then Nawab of Bengal Murshid Quli Khan shifted the capital from Dhaka to Murshidabad in the early-18th century. With the rise of Calcutta during the British rule, Dhaka began to decline and came to be known as the "City of Magnificent Ruins". The British however began to develop the modern city from the mid-19th century.

Textile schools in Bangladesh offer various academic and professional degrees in textile fields. A number of colleges and technical institutes as well as some universities offer diploma, bachelor's and master's degree from their allocated faculties upon completion of certification courses. Textile courses offered in these schools include spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, apparels merchandising and fashion designing. As of 2019, textile material is the largest export item of Bangladesh. Bangladesh exported $42.35 billion worth of readymade garments in the 2018–2019 fiscal year.

The Bangladesh Technical Education Board is a state regulatory board responsible for monitoring and developing technical and vocational education in the secondary level (SSC), 2-year higher secondary level (HSC/Vocational), 4-year Diploma in Agriculture, 4-year Diploma in Engineering degree and 4-year Diploma in Medical Technology degree throughout the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The board sets the curriculum, develops learning materials, grants affiliation to technical and vocational institutions, governs admissions, conducts examination, and awards diploma certifications.
Mohammad Rafi Khan was a Bangladeshi pediatrician from Satkhira. In 1994, he was selected the National Professor of Bangladesh. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2009 and Independence Day Award in 2016 by the Government of Bangladesh. He was a Fellow of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences since 1975. He was the founder of Central Hospital, Dhaka.
