Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a non-government organisation and is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. [1] [2] [3]

History

The mission was founded in 1958 by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah. It is one of the largest NGOs in Bangladesh and has helped 1.9 million women achieve economic solvency. The mission founded Ahsania Mission Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre. It founded a university, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, the country's first private teachers college, Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Teachers' Training College. The mission also founded Ahsanullah Institute Technical and Vocational Education and Training Institute, Ahsanullah Institute of Information & Communication Technology, Ahsanullah Mission College, and Vocational Training Institute for Working Children. It operates a number of social welfare company including Hajj Finance Company, Boibazar, Nogordola, and Ahsania-Malaysia Hajj Mission. It won the Independence Day Award in 2002, the highest civilian honor in Bangladesh. [4] [5] In 2014 mission opened Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital, the largest cancer hospital in Bangladesh. [6]

He was notable for his philanthropic works in Bengal, most notably his donations to the present Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He also authored books in Persian and Urdu under the pen name of Shaheen. The palace Ahsan Manzil is named after him by his father Khwaja Abdul Ghani.

Old Dhaka is a term used to refer to the historic old city of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. It was one of the largest and most prosperous cities of South Asia and the center of the worldwide muslin trade. Bogura Polytechnic Institute or BPI is a Government Technical Institute in Bogura, Bangladesh. It is one of the largest polytechnic institutes in Bangladesh.

Textile schools in Bangladesh offer various academic and professional degrees in textile fields. A number of colleges and technical institutes as well as some universities offer diploma, bachelor's and master's degree from their allocated faculties upon completion of certification courses. Textile courses offered in these schools include spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, apparels merchandising and fashion designing. As of 2019, textile material is the largest export item of Bangladesh. Bangladesh exported $42.35 billion worth of readymade garments in the 2018–2019 fiscal year.

The Bangladesh Technical Education Board is a state regulatory board responsible for monitoring and developing technical and vocational education in the secondary level (SSC), 2-year higher secondary level (HSC/Vocational), 4-year Diploma in Agriculture, 4-year Diploma in Engineering degree and 4-year Diploma in Medical Technology degree throughout the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Mohammad Rafi Khan was a Bangladeshi pediatrician from Satkhira. In 1994, he was selected the National Professor of Bangladesh. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2009 and Independence Day Award in 2016 by the Government of Bangladesh. He was a Fellow of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences since 1975. He was the founder of Central Hospital, Dhaka.

Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled was a Bangladeshi economist and former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank. In 2011, Bangla Academy awarded him an honorary fellowship.
