Dian Badenhorst (born 8 August 1996) is a South African rugby union player for the Cheetahs in the Pro14, the Free State Cheetahs in the Currie Cup and the Free State XV in the Rugby Challenge. [1] His regular position is scrum-half.
Badenhorst was born in Bloemfontein. He is the son of Chris Badenhorst, a former wing that played in two tests for the South Africa national team in 1994 and 1995. [2]
The Currie Cup tournament is South Africa's premier domestic rugby union competition, played each winter and spring, featuring teams representing either entire provinces or substantial regions within provinces. Although it is the premier domestic competition, South African teams also compete in the international United Rugby Championship competitions.
