Diane Kerr

Aunty Diane Kerr (born 1954) is an Indigenous Australian Wurundjeri Elder who identifies with the Ganun Willam Balak clan. [1] [2] She has contributed to Australian society through her work with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and government in a range of fields including health, child care, education, native title, Stolen Generation support, and other community work.

Kerr's public contributions were nationally acknowledged by the awarding of the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2019 Australia Day Honours List. [3] She was also acknowledged by the Victorian State Government when she was inducted into the 2017 Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll. [4]

She has been appointed to the council and boards of a number of organisations. She is the Chair of the Board of Native Title Services Victoria. [5] In 2016, Kerr was appointed to the Aboriginal Treaty Interim Working Group [6] by the Minister of Aboriginal Affairs, Government of Victoria. Kerr sits on the Community Council of the South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN). [7] Kerr is member of the First 1000 Days Australia council. [8] She is a member and former Director of the Dandenong and District Aboriginal Co-Operative. [9]

Jillian Gallagher AO is a Gunditjmara from Australia who has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) since 2001. As a single mother in her twenties Gallagher was accepted into a training scheme for young Aboriginal people at the Museum of Victoria. She worked on the return of the Murray Black Collection and served as manager of the heritage branch of Minister for Aboriginal Affairs (Victoria) before taking up a position at VACCHO in 1998. In 2017 Gallagher was appointed Commissioner of the Victorian Treaty Advancement Commission until the voting period ended in October 2019. Gallagher was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2009 and the Victorian Aboriginal Honour Roll in 2015. She was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2013.

Elizabeth Maud Hoffman, née Morgan, also known as Aunty Liz or Yarmauk, was an Australian Indigenous rights activist and public servant. She co-founded the first Indigenous Woman's Refuge in Australia, named "The Elizabeth Hoffman House" in her honour. She was one of 250 women included in the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2001 and received the inaugural NAIDOC Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
