Diane Wei Liang (born 1966) is a Chinese-born writer living in London.
Diane Wei Liang was born in 1966 in Beijing in the People's Republic of China to an official of the People's Liberation Army,a journalist and Chinese literature professor. Her parents were both college educated teachers so she spent some of her childhood in a labour and reeducation camp with her parents. In 1972 they moved back to live in a city and residency permits meant the family split. She studied Psychology in Beijing University and completed her bachelor's degree there. But in 1989 she participated in the Student Democracy Movement, during which student leaders attempted to provoke the army. As a result of her involvement Liang was forced to flee China. Liang was able to leave because a passport application filed before the events began had been approved. She continued studying in the United States in Carnegie Mellon University and selected the name Diana because of the Roman goddess. Liang graduated with a doctorate in Business Administration and began to teach in the United States, including in the University of Minnesota, and in the United Kingdom, at Royal Holloway College, University of London and Cranfield School of Management. Her first book was begun while she was on maternity leave. It is autobiographical and was published in 2003. Liang is married to a German management consultant and lives in London. Her father and sister still live in China. Although she still visits China, Liang is no longer a Chinese citizen, holding instead both British and American citizenship. Xu Wei, other department Qingteng Shanren, was a Chinese painter, playwright, poet, and tea master during the Ming dynasty. A noted painter, poet, writer and dramatist famed for his artistic expressiveness. Revolutionary for its time, his painting style influenced and inspired countless subsequent painters, such as Bada Shanren, the Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou, and the modern masters Wu Changshuo and Qi Baishi. Qi once exclaimed in a poem that "How I wish to be born 300 years earlier so I could grind ink and prepare paper for Green Vine " (恨不生三百年前，為青藤磨墨理紙). Xu Wei can be considered as the founder of modern painting in China. His influence continues to exert itself. Despite his posthumous recognition, Xu was manifestly mentally ill and unsuccessful in life, ending his life in poverty after the murder of his third wife and several attempts at suicide.

Li Jiawei is a retired Chinese-born former Singaporean table tennis player, four-time Olympian and twice Olympic medalist. She trained in Beijing's famous Shichahai Sports School with Olympic medalist Zhang Yining. Deja Vu is a 2013 Taiwanese romance drama series created by Sanlih. It stars Yao Yuan Hao and Mandy Wei in the lead roles, with Wang Si Ping and Yang Zhen as second leads. The Chinese title of the drama literally translates to "return to past love". Filming began on 12 October 2013 and ended on 8 March 2014. The first episode aired on Sanlih's TTV channel on 3 November 2013, taking over Love Around's time slot. The final episode aired on 30 March 2014, with 22 episodes in total.

Nirvana in Fire is a 2015 Chinese historical drama based on Hai Yan's book Lang Ya Bang (瑯琊榜). It was directed by Kong Sheng and Li Xue, and stars Hu Ge, Liu Tao and Wang Kai as Mei Changsu, Princess Nihuang and Prince Jing. The series tells the story of Lin Shu, who, under the alias Mei Changsu, enters the capital of Liang to seek justice for a conspiracy that labeled his family as traitors 12 years before.
