Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Partypooper is the 20th book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series written and illustrated by Jeff Kinney. The sequel to Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hot Mess, the book was unveiled on February 27, 2025. [1] It was released on October 21, 2025. [2]

Plot

The plot centers around Greg Heffley expecting a surprise birthday party, which does not happen. Even worse, his whole family has forgotten it was his birthday. After the disappointing incident goes viral, which Greg suspects was done by Mrs. Fairweather, who won the last place at a pie-baking competition which Susan Heffley participated in, his parents are shamed by social media and are guilted into throwing him a "blowout" party which Greg plans to maximize for as much presents as possible. [3] The book ends with Greg Heffley getting the trading card that he wanted, only to realize that it's no longer rare. However, Greg successfully starts a successful starts party-hosting side hustle.
