The Ratlam Lok Sabha constituency by-election of 2015 was caused by the death from brain haemorrhage and myocardial infarction of the sitting Member of Parliament, Dileep Singh Bhuria of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The by-election was won by Kantilal Bhuria of the Indian National Congress (INC) by 88,800 votes.
Elections to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held on 28 November 2018 to elect members of the 230 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. The election was a direct political battle between the BJP and the INC. One of the main centers of attraction was the contest between Congress heavy-weight Arun Yadav and the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. While the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had tried to win for consecutive 4th term, the INC fought for winning the state after 2003. The election led to a hung assembly, with the INC emerging as the single largest party and the BJP winning the popular vote. After the results, Congress and BSP formed the government with Kamal Nath becoming the chief minister.
Tulsi Ram Silawat is an Indian politician serving as a cabinet minister in the Madhya Pradesh state government and a two-time representative of the Sanwer constituency in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He took the oath as a cabinet minister in the new Madhya Pradesh government on 25 December, 2018. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on 21 March, 2020, and took oath as the Water Resources Minister under Shivraj Singh Chouhan's cabinet on 21 April, 2020. On 20 October, 2020, he resigned from the post of Water Resources Minister. Rani Saroj Kumari Gaurihar was an Indian writer, politician and freedom fighter. She hailed from the former princely state of Gaurihar. She served as a Member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly representing the Chandla Assembly constituency from 1967 to 1972. She participated in India's movement of freedom struggle and was jailed once during the freedom movement. She died on 28 August 2022, at the age of 93. She was the last Rajmata and last queen of Gaurihar State. Her notable works include Anand Chhalia and Mandvi Ek Vismrita, both poetry collections.
