Diocese of Matabeleland

The Diocese of Matabeleland [1] is in Zimbabwe and is one of 15 dioceses of the Province of Central Africa, a province of the Anglican Communion. [2] The current bishop is Cleophas Lunga.

The Province of York, or less formally the Northern Province, is one of two ecclesiastical provinces making up the Church of England and consists of 12 dioceses which cover the northern third of England and the Isle of Man. York was elevated to an archbishopric in AD 735: Ecgbert was the first archbishop. At one time, the archbishops of York also claimed metropolitan authority over Scotland, but these claims were never realised and ceased when the Archdiocese of St Andrews was established.

The United Provinces of Armagh and Tuam, commonly called the Province of Armagh, and also known as the Northern Province, is one of the two ecclesiastical provinces that together form the Anglican Church of Ireland; the other is the Province of Dublin. The province has existed since 1833, when the ancient Province of Armagh was merged with the Province of Tuam. The Archbishop of Armagh is its metropolitan bishop.

Province 5 (V), also called the Province of the Midwest, is one of nine ecclesiastical provinces making up the Episcopal Church in the United States of America. It comprises fifteen dioceses across the six midwestern states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Jane Cisluycis of the Diocese of Northern Michigan serves as President and the Rt. Rev. Matthew Gunter of the Diocese of Fond du Lac serves as Vice President.

The Bishop of Maidstone is an episcopal title used by a suffragan bishop of the Church of England Diocese of Canterbury, in the Province of Canterbury, England. The title takes its name after the county town of Maidstone in Kent and formerly had a similar, though subordinate, role to that of the Bishop of Dover. It was decided at the diocesan synod of November 2010 that a new bishop would not be appointed; rather the Archdeaconry of Ashford was erected.

The Diocese of Umzimvubu is a relatively new Diocese created out of a portion of the former St John's See. It came into existence in 1991 and is currently vacant after the ousting of bishop Mlibo Ngewu.

Diocese of Lusaka

The Diocese of Lusaka is one of fifteen Anglican bishoprics within the Church of the Province of Central Africa, covering part of Zambia. It came into being as the Diocese of Northern Rhodesia in 1910 and changed its name in 1971. Its seat is the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Lusaka.

The Anglican Diocese of Harare is a diocese of the Church of the Province of Central Africa. The Anglican Diocese of Mashonaland was formed in 1891 and its first bishop was George Knight-Bruce. He was succeeded by William Gaul (1895–1907), formerly Rector of St Cyprian's Church in Kimberley, Northern Cape. Small in stature, Gaul styled himself “the smallest bishop with the largest Diocese in Christendom.” In 1915 the diocese became the Diocese of Southern Rhodesia until 1952 when it reverted to the Diocese of Mashonaland. The diocese was known as the Diocese of Harare and Mashonaland, until changing his name to Diocese of Harare. It has experienced great turbulence in recent times.

A metropolis religious jurisdiction, or a metropolitan archdiocese, is an episcopal see whose bishop is the metropolitan bishop of an ecclesiastical province. Metropolises, historically, have been important cities in their provinces.

The Diocese of Central Zambia is one of 15 dioceses within the Anglican Church of the Province of Central Africa. It came into being in 1971: the first bishop was Jack Cunningham and the current bishop is Derek Kamukwamba.

The Anglican Diocese of Ideato is one of twelve within the Anglican Province of Owerri, Nigeria. It is one of the fourteen provinces within the Church of Nigeria. The diocese was created out of the then Okigwe-Orlu Diocese in 1999. The current bishop is Henry Okeke; he was translated from Mbamili in 2020.
