The Diocese of Vanuatu and New Caledonia is one of the ten dioceses within the Anglican Church of Melanesia.
Originally established as the Diocese of the New Hebrides in 1975, [1] [2] it was inaugurated the same year at Lolowai on Aoba Island. The diocese was renamed the Diocese of Vanuatuc. 1980 following the Republic of Vanuatu's independence, [3] and around 2010, it adopted its current name to include New Caledonia.
The diocese is organized into eight regions and 39 parishes, with its headquarters in Luganville.

Vanuatu, officially the Republic of Vanuatu, is an island country in Melanesia located in the South Pacific Ocean. The archipelago, which is of volcanic origin, is 1,750 km (1,090 mi) east of northern Australia, 540 km (340 mi) northeast of New Caledonia, east of New Guinea, southeast of Solomon Islands, and west of Fiji.
