Dirty Water Dough Company, a restaurant named after "the Standell's" song of the same name located in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, MA on Newbury Street. [1] The restaurant, known for its unique pizza toppings and vibrant atmosphere, opened its doors in 2013 and is owned by Sam Sokol and Luigi Barrasso. [2]
Although the restaurant's original location was in Back Bay, in 2019 a second location was opened in East Boston offering a larger space and an expanded menu. [3]
Dirty Water Dough Company serves New York–style pizza with non-traditional topping combinations, such as their "Steak n' Cola" pie, which was featured on the 14th episode of the 30th season of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. [4]
Owner Sam Sokol was quoted saying, "We really wanted to make our own dough and go over the top with the slices." Along with their "Steak n' Cola" pizza, you can find additional eccentric pizzas such as the "Burgah Bomb", "Taco Pizza", and "Pickled Roni,"; alongside staples such as cheese and pepperoni. [5] In addition to pizza, the menu features sandwiches and salads.
Beer on tap is also offered alongside wine. Beer selection offers a variety of domestic options alongside their home brewed "Dirty Water IPA" which is used in their dough.

Frank Santarpio began selling pizza there three decades later. One Boston Globe reporter said of the establishment that "the average New Englander's only knowledge of East Boston is the sign for Santarpio's Pizza that can be seen from the highway on the way to the airport."
