Displacer is the solo electronic project of Toronto, Ontario-based musician Michael Morton.

Recordings

Morton's first released recording was the track "Deep" on Mute Records' Pre-Set New Electronic Music in 2003. He then signed with Paris, France-based M-Tronic Records, through which he released three CDs. [1] In 2008 he signed to Chicago, USA label Tympanik Audio and released three more albums; The Witching Hour, X Was Never Like This..., and the mainly instrumental Night Gallery. [2] Foundations followed in 2012. [3] His recent releases, Electric Dreams in 2014 [4] and 2016's Curse of the Black Vinyl, were released under his own label. The Crime League. [5]

Remixing

In addition to his own music, Displacer has remixed the work of other musicians, [6] [7] including Claire Voyant, Architect, Converter, Beefcake & Monstrum Sepsis from labels including Hymen Records, Ant-Zen, n5MD, Wax Trax, & Metropolis Records.

Snog is a band that was formed by Australian musician David Thrussell, along with fellow art school friends Tim McGrath and Julia Bourke in 1989. The band's music is a fusion of many different styles, including industrial, techno, ambient, experimental, funk and country music. The band name is a reference to "kissing and cuddling".

Gerald Rydel Simpson, better known as A Guy Called Gerald, is a British record producer and musician. He was an early member of the electronic group 808 State, contributing to their debut LP Newbuild (1988) and hit single "Pacific State" (1989). He also achieved solo success with his 1988 hit single "Voodoo Ray", which became a touchstone of Manchester's acid house scene and reached No. 12 in the UK charts. He embraced breakbeat production in the 1990s, with his 1995 album Black Secret Technology becoming a "much-touted candidate for 'best jungle album ever.'" Gridlock was a San Francisco based experimental electronic band, consisting of Mike Wells and Mike Cadoo. Conceived by Wells in 1993, as "heaviness through electronics", the band was initially a part of the electro-industrial scene, but the band's sound eventually began incorporating more atmospheric textured elements, as well as elements of glitch and IDM.

Witching Hour is the third studio album by English electronic music band Ladytron, released on 3 October 2005 through Island Records internationally and Rykodisc in the United States. The album was promoted by four singles: "Sugar", "Destroy Everything You Touch", "Weekend" and "Soft Power".

V/Vm is the experimental music and sound collage project of Leyland James Kirby, from Stockport, England. Although starting out mainly in the style of noise music, Kirby is also a composer of original electronic music and remixes. His vast output is released primarily on his own V/Vm Test Records label. Uroš Umek, better known as DJ Umek or simply UMEK, is a Slovenian dance music producer and DJ. Musically active since 1993, he is the owner of several techno record labels. In 1999 he founded Consumer Recreation and Recycled Loops, the former of which he co-runs with Valentino Kanzyani. Recycled Loops formed the sublabel Earresistible Musick in 2001, and in 2007 Umek founded the large techno label 1605.

The track "Smoke a Kipper" made number 17 in the top 100 Scottish songs of 2023 published by the Scottish Herald newspaper.The single "The Strangest Times" was championed by Guy Monnington on Amazing Radio who included the track in his `Against the grain playlist` The video for the track was shortlisted for video of the year by The Weekender magazine.

Jasper Patterson, better known by his stage name Groundislava, is an electronic musician and music producer based in Los Angeles, California. He is one of the founding members of the LA-based music collective Wedidit.
