Its name is the feminine form of the Croatian adjective meaning "good" but it is over simplistic folk etymology. The river name probably comes from the Celtic transl. cel – transl. dubrum, dubron meaning 'water', Illyrian δυβρις 'deep' or Old Slavonic dъbrь also 'deep' or 'valley'.

Medieval castle Dobra Kuća was an important fortification of the region in the Middle Ages. It is often mentioned in Croatian medieval sources. It is situated near city of Daruvar, Croatia. Dobra Kuća, owned by various persons, was a vivid centre of then rich country. The castle was built after castle Stupčanica in the 14th century. It was first mentioned in 1335, when king Charles I of Hungary exchanged royal estate of new Litva for castle Dobra Kuća with Dobra Kuća family. While neighbouring castle Stupčanica can be seen from far well, castle Dobra Kuća is a real place of refuge; it is located on a solitary hill surrounded by mountains in every directions and cannot be seen unless you are at the bottom of it.

The Sebeș is a left tributary of the river Mureș in Transylvania, Romania. The upper reach of the river is also known as Frumoasa. The Romanian and Hungarian name Sebeș and Sebes originate from the Hungarian adjective sebes meaning "speedy", while the German name means Mill Creek. The source of the river is on the south slope of the Cindrel Mountains, in the southwestern part of Sibiu County. It flows through the reservoirs Oașa and Tău. It discharges into the Mureș in Oarda, near Alba Iulia. Its length is 96 km (60 mi) and its basin size is 1,304 km2 (503 sq mi).
