DocNetwork is an electronic health record system for camps, child care, and schools. The DocNetwork suite includes CampDoc, ChildCareDoc, and SchoolDoc.

DocNetwork was awarded the Ann Arbor SPARK FastTrack Award for 2016, 2017, and 2018 [1] [2] , [3] and in April 2017 Dr. Michael Ambrose was named a Top 40 Healthcare Transformer by MM&M. [4]

Divisions

CampDoc.com

Michael Ambrose began developing the concept for DocNetwork in 2002 while working as a medical clinic assistant at Tamarack Camps in Ortonville, Michigan. [5] In 2009, while attending the University of Michigan Medical School, Ambrose launched CampDoc.com, used by over 750 summer camps throughout the United States and Canada in 2015. CampDoc.com is used by special needs and medical camps, adventure, tripping and sports camps. [6]

ChildCareDoc and SchoolDoc

DocNetwork launched ChildCareDoc in the summer of 2013, and is piloting this system with child care centers and preschools nationally. Alongside the launch of ChildCareDoc, DocNetwork also launched SchoolDoc, and works with many public schools, private schools and boarding schools.

Features

Online registration

In November 2013, DocNetwork launched a free online registration system for summer camps. This will allow families to register their campers and pay camp deposits and tuition by credit card or electronic check online. While many camp registration software providers exist, all are paid products. This service will be released for users of the CampDoc division first, with the other divisions of DocNetwork to follow. Travel and emergency medical protection

CampDoc partnered with CampAssure in August 2015, to help provide travel and emergency medical protection for children attending summer camps. Coverage is offered for campers in case of cancellation or interruption, parent employment termination, delayed flights, and baggage loss or damage. Campers will also be eligible for coverage for emergency medical expenses during international and domestic trips, in case of sickness, accidents, evacuation, and transportation home. [9]

Markel Insurance

CampDoc partnered with Markel Corporation in February 2012. [10] In September 2013, CampDoc.com announced that they will continue working together. [11]

YMCA

In September 2014, CampDoc was selected by the YMCA as a preferred vendor for YMCA summer camps. [12]

Day camp

Day camps also known as summer camps in some areas, are geared for those who are of school age. They offer activities in a social setting, usually in the community and the children return home in the evenings. Day camps can be booked by the day or by the week, or month depending on the institution organizing them.

The Double H Ranch, co-founded in 1992 by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. The Ranch's purpose is to enrich their lives and provide camp experiences that are memorable, exciting, fun, empowering, physically safe and medically sound. Frost Valley YMCA is a camping, environmental education, and conferencing center located in Claryville, New York, part of the Catskill Mountains. Founded in 1901 as Camp Wawayanda, the camp moved to its present location in 1958.

YMCA Camp Fitch on Lake Erie

YMCA Camp Fitch is a year-round camp in North Springfield, Pennsylvania, owned and operated by the YMCA of Youngstown, Ohio. Prior to 1914, all summer camps operated by the YMCA of Youngstown were experimental and temporary in nature. Since its founding in 1914, Camp Fitch has hosted campers every year to date. Originally a program of the YMCA's downtown branch, Camp Fitch now exists as a YMCA branch owned by the YMCA of Youngstown.

YMCA of Greater New York is a community service organization, the largest YMCA in North America and also New York City’s largest private youth-serving organization. In 2013, YMCA of Greater New York served more than one half-million New Yorkers, half of them under age 25.

Camp Ralph S. Mason

YMCA Camp Mason is a YMCA summer camp located in Hardwick Township, New Jersey. The 650 acre site is located next to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Camp Mason annually serves approximately 800 campers in its summer camp programs, and 7,000 participants at its outdoor center.

Located on 150 acres on Cedar Lake in Chester, Connecticut, Camp Hazen YMCA provides positive youth camping experiences for over 1500 boys and girls each year from throughout the state. Group camping includes over 6000 participants annually. Camp Hazen YMCA serves youth from throughout Connecticut, New England and many states around the country. Each summer, Camp Hazen YMCA is also home to campers and counselors from more than 25 different countries. Campers come from all socio-economic backgrounds, and range in age from 5 to 18. Over 800 campers were provided with financial assistance in 2009. These funds, over $205,000, were provided through the generosity of individuals, foundations, businesses and service clubs.

YMCA Camp Wanakita

YMCA Wanakita is a camp located on Koshlong Lake near Haliburton in central Ontario, Canada. It is run by the YMCA of Hamilton, Burlington and Brantford and attracts campers from throughout Ontario and sometimes internationally. Wanakita is most active as a residential summer camp, however it also offers day camping, winter camping and family camping. As of 2012, the camp estimates that it has been home to over 200,000 individuals since it was founded in 1953.

CP3 Youth Camps is a youth basketball camp organization based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States. The organization was started by Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul.

Camp Quest Childrens humanist summer camp

Camp Quest is an organisation providing humanist residential summer camps for children in the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway. It was created in 1996 in Kentucky to provide an alternative to the traditional religiously affiliated summer camps, for the children of nontheistic, humanist or freethinking families as well as children from a religious upbringing. Camp Quest currently consists of 13 affiliated camp groups and its current Executive Director is Kim Newton.

SeriousFun Childrens Network organization

SeriousFun Children's Network is a global community of 30 camps and programs for seriously ill children. All camps and programs offer free recreational experiences to children with serious illnesses and their family members. The first SeriousFun camp was launched in 1988 by founder Paul Newman.

RKY Camp

RKY Camp is a non-profit organization and summer camp, accredited by the Ontario Camping Association, in Parham, Ontario, Canada, north of Kingston, Ontario. Operating since 1929 on Eagle Lake, RKY Camp was founded by The Rotary Club, Kiwanis International, and the YMCA of Kingston, making up the abbreviation 'R.K.Y.'. RKY Camp ran as an all-boys camp until 1969. The camp provides outdoor education and camping opportunities to people of all backgrounds, including integrated summer camping for children and young adults with disabilities through a combined effort with Reach for the Rainbow. RKY Camp provides financial assistance, or "camperships" to ensure any youth has an opportunity to attend.

Camp Rock Enon

Camp Rock Enon or CRE is a Boy Scouts of America resident summer camp for both younger and older youth with high adventure opportunities. The mineral springs of the area afforded the development of a resort in 1856. 89 years later in 1944 the resort and most of the land began the conversion to youth development resources. The summer camp includes familiar outdoor programs like aquatics, camping, cooking, fishing, handicraft, and shooting sports, yet also includes less common programs like canyoneering, rappelling, rock climbing, scuba, space exploration, volleyball, white water rafting, and wilderness survival. The property includes 14 campsites that accommodate from 16 to 56 campers in tents or Adirondack shelters as well as a dining hall that can serve 450 at a time. The camp is 1.6 miles (2.6 km) from the border of Virginia and West Virginia, 35 miles (56 km) from the Maryland border, and also 35 miles (56 km) from the Pennsylvania border. Units from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia most often frequent the property.
