Dokhaharan lake

Dokhaharan lake also known as Dokhaharoon lake [1] (which means two sisters lake) is a lake located on western hillside of Mount Damavand. This name is because of nearby mounts, named Dokhaharan. [2]

It is located in Larijan District, Amol County. Road 77 (Iran) passes by this lake. [3] Lake is located 3880 meters higher than sea level and its primary inflow is melted snows on the nearby mounts. This lake is not very deep. [4]

The Alborz range, also spelled as Alburz, Elburz or Elborz, is a mountain range in northern Iran that stretches from the border of Azerbaijan along the western and entire southern coast of the Caspian Sea and finally runs northeast and merges into the smaller Aladagh Mountains and borders in the northeast on the parallel mountain ridge Kopet Dag in the northern parts of Khorasan.
