The Dominican Republic women's national softball team is the national softball team of Dominican Republic. It is governed by Dominican Republic Softball Federation and takes part in international softball competitions.

The team competed at the 2002 ISF Women's World Championship in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where they finished sixteenth. [1] [2] The team competed at the 2010 ISF Women's World Championship in Caracas, Venezuela where they finished thirteenth. [3]

The team won the bronze medal at the softball tournament of the 2003 Pan American Games. [4] The Dominican team won the gold medal at the softball tournament of the 2013 Bolivarian Games. [5] [6]

The 2013 Bolivarian Games, officially the XVII Bolivarian Games, was a major international multi-sport event that was held from November 16–30, 2013, in Trujillo, Peru, with some events held in Lima and Chiclayo. Approximately 4,500 athletes from 11 nations participated in 44 sports. These Games was the third Bolivarian Games that was hosted by Peru. Previously, Peru hosted the 1947–48 Bolivarian Games and the 1997 Bolivarian Games. Since 2011, Trujillo was preparing the sport buildings for the Bolivarian Games.

Softball, for the 2013 Bolivarian Games, took place from 23 November to 30 November 2013. Women's under 23 team competed at these Games. The Dominican Republic won the gold medal ahead of silver medalists Venezuela and Colombia, Bronze.

José Armando Castillo also known as El Mago(the magician), is a retired baseball and fastpitch softball pitcher of the Dominican Republic National Team. He has won several gold medals in softball in various Central American and Caribbean Games and has been a national trainer in softball. He has been selected as the Softball Player of the Century in the Dominican Republic as well as added to the Corridor of Athletes of Merit of Santiago by the Sports Press Association of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. In 2016, José Armando was inducted to the Hall of Fame of the Sports of Santiago.
