Donald Hardy Castle (born February 1,1950) is a former professional baseball player. He played in four games in Major League Baseball for the Texas Rangers in 1973,three as a designated hitter and one as a pinch hitter.
Castle was drafted as a first baseman in the first round in 1968 by the Washington Senators,who became the Rangers in 1972. In addition to his brief major league career,Castle played for eleven years in minor league baseball,finishing his career with the West Haven Yankees in 1978. [1]
César Leonardo Tovar,nicknamed "Pepito" and "Mr. Versatility",was a Venezuelan professional baseball player,who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins (1965–1972),Philadelphia Phillies (1973),Texas Rangers (1974–1975),Oakland Athletics (1975–1976),and New York Yankees (1976). Tovar was an extremely versatile player capable of playing various defensive positions on the field. In 1968,he became only the second player in MLB history to play all nine field positions during a single game,a feat first accomplished by Bert Campaneris,in 1965. Tovar also had a prolific career in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (VPBL),where he played 26 seasons –second only to the 30 seasons played by Vic Davalillo.
Michael Brian Young is an American former professional baseball infielder who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers,Philadelphia Phillies,and Los Angeles Dodgers. Since 2014,Young has worked in the Rangers’front office as a Special Assistant to the General Manager. Originally a second baseman,the versatile Young was a five-time All-Star at shortstop,once at third base,and once as a combination designated hitter / utility infielder. He was the 2005 American League (AL) batting champion.
