The Donaldsonville Grays were a semi-pro baseball team that operated in Louisiana. [1] [2] The team was based in Donaldsonville, Louisiana and played its home games at La La Regira Field. [3] The team played as early as 1902 and as late as 1972. [2] [3]

Bayou Lafourche, originally called Chetimachas River or La Fourche des Chetimaches,, is a 106-mile-long (171 km) bayou in southeastern Louisiana, United States, that flows into the Gulf of Mexico. The bayou is flanked by Louisiana Highway 1 on the west and Louisiana Highway 308 on the east, and is known as "the longest Main Street in the world." It flows through parts of Ascension, Assumption, and Lafourche parishes. Today, approximately 300,000 Louisiana residents drink water drawn from the bayou.

Charles E. Coates

Charles Edward Coates, Jr. was an American academic, chemist, and player and coach of American football. He was the third faculty member with a PhD in Louisiana State University's history. Coates was known worldwide for his work in sugar chemistry research and he served as the dean of the Audubon Sugar School. Coates was also the first head coach of the LSU Tigers football team. He lost the only game he ever coached in 1893 to a team composed mostly of ex-Tulane players and members of the Southern Athletic Club, 34–0.

Wade Allen Miley is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Miley in the first round of the 2008 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut with the Diamondbacks in 2011, and has also played for the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros. He played college baseball at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Athletic Park was a sports stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana which opened in 1901. The ballpark was located on the south side of Tulane Avenue between South Carrollton Avenue and South Pierce Street. When the Pelicans moved a few blocks up the street to Pelican Park, this site was replaced by an amusement park called White City. The Pelicans would move back to this lot a few years later and build a new facility called Heinemann Park.
