Donna Oberlander is an American politician. A member of the Republican Party,she was elected to her first term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in November 2008. She serves as the majority whip,and has been appointed to the Rules Committee and the Committee on Committees.
Before she was elected to the House,Oberlander served as legislative aide to former State Representative Fred McIlhattan. She left that office to help local businesses grow and expand in Clarion County before being elected to the Clarion County Board of Commissioners in 2004. [1]
Oberlander graduated from Clarion University with a bachelor's degree in political science. Upon graduation,she married her high school sweetheart,a United States Marine stationed in Quantico,Virginia. While in Quantico,Oberlander worked for a government contractor tracking radio communications for Navy ships. She has two children. [1]
Melissa Ann Hart is an American lawyer and politician. She was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007,representing western Pennsylvania's 4th congressional district. She was the first Republican woman to represent Pennsylvania at the federal level. Prior to her service in Congress,Hart served in the Pennsylvania Senate,where she chaired the finance committee. She was the first Republican woman elected to serve a full term in the Pennsylvania Senate in 1990 when she was 28 years old. In her first run for office,Hart defeated an incumbent in a senate district that included parts of Allegheny,Westmoreland and Armstrong counties. In the 2006 midterm elections,Hart lost her bid for re-election to Democrat Jason Altmire. She challenged Altmire again in the 2008 election,but was defeated again.
Mary Adelaide Lundby was a state Senator from the Iowa's 18th District. She served in the Iowa Senate from 1995 to 2009,serving as Minority Leader from 2006 to 2007 and as Co-Majority Leader in 2006. She also served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995,serving as Speaker pro Tempore from 1992 to 1994. Prior to her election to the Iowa House,Lundby had served as the co-chair of the Linn County Republican party,as a member of the Linn County Republican Central Committee,and as staff assistant to then-senator Roger Jepsen.
